It’s not easy, killing people and raising a family. The new action-thriller ‘Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother’ is coming to the Paramount screens starting this week‼️

Latif, a devoutly religious hitman, struggles to balance work, faith and fatherhood. When his wife dies, he embarks on a desperate journey across Houston to protect his children, confronting the forces closing in around him – and the beliefs threatening to unravel within.

“’Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother’ is its own beautiful singular thing, partly a stylish and pulpy neo-western thriller about a father racked with guilt, navigating violence that comes heavy and uneasy, but first and foremost a drama about a family reconciling their Muslim faith with their actions, their environments and their grief.” THE GUARDIAN⭐

Are you ready to make television history? ‘Primetime’ brings the drama with Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen, alongside Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Matthew Maher, and Phoebe Bridgers.🎥

In 2006, To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen sets out to make television history. When a high stakes operation goes fatally wrong, his veneered dream of fame curdles into a nightmare of performative justice.📺

“’Primetime’ is a media satire, a thriller, and a horror movie. It’s also about the meaning of the word evil—whether it is best understood as a description of thought and behavior, or a malevolent force. In the end, it makes a stronger case for the second meaning. The characters all fall into one of two categories: the corruptors and the corrupted. Evil seems to be passed from one character to another like a sickness. Sometimes it hides in the dark, waiting for the next vessel to arrive.” ROGER EBERT⭐

Oscar winner Mahershala Ali and director Bassam Tariq come together to bring us ‘Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother’, a impactful hybrid of religious commentary, samurai action and family drama.🔪

Latif, a devoutly religious hitman, struggles to balance work, faith and fatherhood. When his wife dies, he embarks on a desperate journey across Houston to protect his children, confronting the forces closing in around him – and the beliefs threatening to unravel within.🩸

“Ali’s performance is easily among the best of the year, finding ways to add nuance and depth through movement, body language, and fight choreography as much as his mesmerizing face. While the film’s stoic hitman and samurai influences have drawn comparisons to “Drive” and “Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai,” there’s something about Latif that’s also impressively original.” ROGER EBERT⭐

It’s a hard world for little things with Thursday Film Series committee member Sam’s choice, ‘The Night of the Hunter’.🐎

In Depression-era West Virginia, a serial-killing preacher hunts two young children who know the whereabouts of a stash of money.💸

“At its heart, the film is a children’s fairytale – strange and idiosyncratic – but also a noir thriller, laced with the darkest elements of both genres: death, guilt, greed, poverty, cruelty, biblical references and a terrifying pursuit by the scariest of bogeymen. Laughton described it as “a nightmarish sort of Mother Goose tale”.” THE GUARDIAN

This series was fished out of the members favourite movies, each film chosen by and representing a member of the Committee. There’s no overarching theme just films wrangled from the depths of our individual tastes.🎣

“One of the most expensive Korean films ever made, this epic sci-fi begins as a “breathless rollercoaster ride” and mashes up The Terminator, Predator, Aliens and Avatar.” BBC⭐️

‘Silence of the Lambs’ is gracing our Paramount screens for its 35th anniversary.🐑

Clarice Starling is a top student at the FBI’s training academy. Jack Crawford wants Clarice to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a brilliant psychiatrist who is also a violent psychopath, serving life behind bars for various acts of murder and cannibalism. Crawford believes that Lecter may have insight into a case and that Starling, as an attractive young woman, may be just the bait to draw him out.🩸

The Cinema Passport presents ‘Hope’, Hong-jin’s sci-fi monster epic.🚨

In the remote South Korean village of Hope Harbor, police chief Bum-seok and officer Sung-ae are called to investigate a mysterious creature wreaking havoc on the community. But all is not as it seems, and perceptions can be misleading. What begins as ignorance plants the seed of disaster, escalating through human conflict into a tragedy of cosmic proportions.🚓👣

“It’s bold, provocative, and assured filmmaking that oscillates between moments of breathtaking cinematic prowess and satirical characterizations, whose coy rendering turns a mirror toward those who unconsciously lap up hollow action heroes when the far more intriguing story exists in plain sight.” ROGER EBERT⭐

💬 All ‘Cinema Passport’ screenings will have original audio with English subtitles.
