One final weekend. ❤️🎬

What an absolutely wonderful season it’s been at Highlands Cinemas.

To everyone who made the drive to Kinmount, bought a ticket, grabbed some popcorn, brought the kids, told a friend, came back for another movie, and then another, or simply helped spread the word it means a lot to us. Truly.

In 1979 I never thought we’d still be here for the flickers in the dark. This place has only existed so long because people continue to show up for it, and this season has been such a beautiful reminder of how much Highlands Cinemas means to so many people.

We do our best to make it special for you and we hoped you’ve felt the love and hard work that goes into making Highlands Cinemas a unique experience.

Now we’re heading into our final weekend of the season, Friday October 9th through Monday October 12th.

Come help us close it out properly. One more movie. One more bag of popcorn. One more trip to the cinema in the woods.

From everyone at Highlands Cinemas, thank you for an incredible season. We couldn’t do it without you.

Fall is here for real now. The leaves are turning, the nights are getting colder, and apparently the cats have decided they’re management.

We’re open Friday, October 2nd through Monday, October 5th

Tommy Cruise is cruisin’ in with DIGGER for an Oscar run… although looking at this week’s poster, is it just us, or does Digger look suspiciously like a certain cinema proprietor we know in Kinmount?

Apparently the dogs have staged a takeover.

This week the canines are all over the screens, and the cats are absolutely not impressed. There’s been glaring. There’s been hissing. One of them has already demanded a meeting with management.

I declined.

The leaves are turning, the nights are getting darker, and apparently that means it’s time for giants, zombies, witches and one extremely determined coyote.

ACME may suck, but COYOTE VS. ACME certainly doesn’t. It’s sitting at 96% positive on Rotten Tomatoes. Take that, corporate shelving departments.

Meanwhile, the giants are still here chasing Odysseus and his merry men in THE ODYSSEY, RESIDENT EVIL is standing by to scare the daylights out of you, and PRACTICAL MAGIC 2 and END OF OAK STREET round out the week.

We’re open Friday, Sept. 18 through Monday, Sept. 21. Come see us. The woods are lovely this time of year, and the movies are considerably safer than wandering around outside after dark.

Our schedule Friday, Sept. 11 through Monday, Sept. 14. Four days of movies, popcorn, questionable decisions, and one coyote who still hasn’t learned when to quit.

And yes, Wile E. Coyote is finally getting his day in court.

Personally, I wouldn’t hire him for pest control. After all those years, the poor bu**er couldn’t catch a Road Runner. I bet he couldn’t catch one of my cats — though, knowing them, they’d probably take the ACME rocket away from him and use it themselves.

Anyway, come see how that works out for him on the big screen.
