Dear Concerned Customers:

Over the last few months I have been contacted by various long term customers, offering to donate to the cause or do what they can to help. I have been resisting this as I am not entirely comfortable with the idea. I have finally relented and decided if you truly feel stongly enough about Highlands Cinemas, and want to donate to the cause we will accept donations. The conditions we will impose are any money donated will go into a seperate account, until a decision on what we are going to do is made in Sept. At that time if we decide to go ahead the donations will go towards the upgrades that are necessary if we are to reopen next year. If we decide not to continue the donations will be returned to the people donating. I am flattered that some people feel so strongly about this Theatre that evolved out of my life time interest in movies. If you decide you want to help, donations should be sent to Highlands Cinemas, Box 85, Kinmount, ON K0M 2A0 or can be handed in at the Ticket Window when you come for a show. Cheques should be made out to...

Last weekend of summer. Somehow.

Before the backpacks come out, the alarm clocks start ringing, and everybody goes back to pretending they enjoy early mornings, come spend the long weekend with us at Highlands Cinemas

And yes, you can still get a double dose of Tom Holland while you’re here, with THE ODYSSEY and SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY both playing.

We’d love to see you once more before summer officially packs it in. Come out, grab some popcorn, watch a movie or two, and tell us why you came to the cinema this summer.

We’re open Friday through Monday this long weekend.

DOES THIS CAT BELONG TO ANYONE IN TOWN. IF SO CALL 705 488 2199. IT SURE ISN'T SPENDING MUCH TIME AT HOME IF IT DOES.

We’re not saying they did… but sometimes they sure act like it around here! R.IP. Gumpy Cat.

One important update: matinees are officially over for the 2026 season, but there’s still plenty of summer movie magic left at Highlands Cinemas!

Come finish the summer with us this weekend in Kinmount, catch a movie, grab some popcorn, wander the museum and spend one more summer night at the movies.

And we want to know: How many times have YOU been to Highlands Cinemas this summer? Once? Five times? Every weekend? Tell us in the comments!

See you at the movies everyone. Thanks for coming!

Things have gotten a little hairy at Highlands Cinemas.
This week, Insidious: Out of the FURther has arrived… or at least our cat-inspired version of it has. We took the villain and gave it a feline twist...not sure what's creepier.
Now playing this week:
The Odyssey
Paw Patrol
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Insidious: Out of the Further
Playing Friday, August 21st through Thursday, August 27th.
Come by, catch a movie, grab some popcorn, and enjoy one of the last big weeks of summer with us.

What can we say? We’re cat people around here.
But the PAW Patrol pups are back in action just in time for the dog days of summer!

Spidey is still swinging, The Odyssey is still rolling, and there’s still plenty of summer movie magic left in the woods.

Come on by and catch a movie with us this week!

Heading Into Late Summer at the Cinema in the Woods

We’re so grateful that you still love coming to the movies with us and, of course, the cats out here in the forest.

The lights are dimming, the popcorn is popping, and the magic is still happening, just as it should.

Come and see us. The cats insist :)

We love hearing from you. We really do. But we also get a lot of calls asking the same questions.

So, before you pick up the phone, please take a peek at our handy FAQ. It covers the important stuff: we’re cash only, tickets are sold in person, seating is first come first served, the theatre opens 30 minutes before the first show, and yes—you can visit the museum without seeing a movie.

Basically, everything you need to know before arriving at Highlands Cinemas is right here.

Please read it. Tell your friends. Keith has projectors to start, popcorn to make, and cats to feed
