Introducing our AUGUST 2026 Event Calendar! 🎬🔥
Holy stacked calendar, Batman! This month, Hyland Cinema’s programming matches this summer’s heat! In our most Lynchian month yet, we are excited to announce both 25th anniversary screenings of David Lynch’s surrealist neo-noir masterpiece MULHOLLAND DRIVE (playing as a part of our series Noir Nights), and, that at 9:00pm August 4th, Hyland Cinema is entering the town of Twin Peaks. Starting this month, we will be presenting the entirety of season one of one of the most legendary television series ever made on the big screen, in our new series TWIN PEAKS TUESDAYS. 🌲☕
August also marks the end to our summer miniseries, but don’t fret, as we’ve saved the best for last. We return to outer space in the conclusion to our series B-Movie Madness with the back-to-back intergalactic insanity of FORBIDDEN PLANET and THE WAR OF THE WORLDS. Our Summer Musical Series wraps up on a summer lovin’ note with the one that you want, the electrifyin’ musical classic GREASE, and our Rock the Hyland series concludes with the greatest concert film ever made, the Talking Heads’ STOP MAKING SENSE. Finally, we finish our 35mm Film Series with The Forest City Film Festival this month with two all-timer classics. Viddy well, Hylanders, as we will be giving you a bit of the ol’ ultraviolence with Stanley Kubrick’s A CLOCKWORK ORANGE on 35mm film at the start of the month, and end the month with a stunning film print of one of the greatest science fiction films ever made, Ridley Scott’s BLADE RUNNER (The Final Cut Version). 📽️🎞️
If you don’t want the summer to end, we don’t blame you! Take one last road trip to the Hyland to see another Ridley Scott classic, the buddy-drama THELMA AND LOUISE in celebration of the film’s 35th anniversary. Or, if you have the guts to, join us at Camp Arawak for the slasher classic SLEEPAWAY CAMP, playing as a part of our series Horror at the Hyland. See it back-to-back with Jane Schoenbrun’s new film TEENAGE S*X AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA, opening exclusively in London at the Hyland on August 14th! 🔪🩸
Finally, we present a wide array of family classics perfect for the summer break, such as one of the defining films of the Disney Renaissance ALADDIN (playing as a part of our series Disney Days), the Adam West-starring zany superhero camp classic BATMAN (celebrating its 60th Anniversary!), and the return of our always-popular Saturday Morning LOONEY TUNES CEREAL PARTY! See it in preparation for the once-buried new Looney Tunes film COYOTE VS ACME, opening August 28th at Hyland Cinema! 💥🧨
Last but certainly not least, we honour the legacy of the brilliant Sam Neill this month by presenting one of his most iconic performances on the big screen. With limited showtimes beginning August 1st.. Welcome… to JURASSIC PARK. 🦖🦕
