Scale-Up and Energy Efficiency in Battery Coating with Laser Drying

At the Coatema Coating Machinery GmbH R&D centre in Dormagen, from GmbH interviewed Thomas Kolbusch (THE coating expert), Vice President of Coatema, on scaling pilot production to industrial environments. The discussion focused on energy consumption in high-speed battery coating lines and how laser drying can reduce the carbon foodprint.

Slot Die Coating Masterclass – Closing Session

👉 The Masterclass concluded after two days of intensive learning, hands-on practice, and technical exchange. Participants explored advanced methods for slot die coating, gained insights into the rheology of non-Newtonian fluids, and deepened their understanding of the mathematical principles behind slot die processes.

👉 The program continued with an introduction to drying technologies that follow the coating step and highlighted the importance of numerical simulations for process optimization.

👉 Finally, practical troubleshooting trials allowed participants to apply their knowledge directly on equipment and discuss solutions with experts.

👉 A huge thank you to our incredible speakers, dedicated colleagues whose support made this event possible, and of course, our wonderful participants for their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the two days!
