🎥The European Wildlife Film Awards are entering their third edition: Starting April 15, we will be accepting submissions for films that explore Europe’s fascinating nature and wildlife. All films must have been produced within the last two years. The submission period closes on 1 June. You may submit documentaries that explore the themes of nature, wildlife, or the environment in Europe and that were completed no more than two years prior to submission.
🦉Winners will receive prize money totaling 47,500 euros, a handcrafted wooden owl trophy, and the title “Best European Nature Film 2027.” A jury of experts from the fields of nature conservation, media, science, and culture will select the winners in the categories Wildlife (sponsored by .wildtier.stiftung), Biodiversity (sponsored by ), Nature Conservation (sponsored by .wildtier.stiftung), and Best Story (sponsored by ). In addition, there is an Audience Award (sponsored by NDR) and an award for Best Short Film (sponsored by .de ). The awards ceremony will take place on February 6, 2027, at the Embassy of Wild Animals. The patron of the EWFA is Hamburg’s Second Mayor and Senator for the Environment, .fegebank .
➡️The EWFA is the only European nature film award and also the most highly endowed nature film competition in Europe. The best submitted films will be screened at the Nature Film Theater in the Embassy of Wild Animals after the 2027 awards ceremony.
