QuikBeam and HydraPanel got teamed up to illuminate mirrored geodes, bringing depth, dimension, and dynamic lighting to the set for the New Orleans Saints’ Media Day 🏈

For the production team, flexibility was key: "We are choosing Astera for it's quick dynamic integrations into our sets and needing to be able to switch looks on the fly. Different color changes being able to be programmed from both lights make these a seemless option for multiple looks and feels."

“The design and engineering are highly functional, and the fixtures can be focused quickly and efficiently,” shares Technical Director at Canadian Stage Brayden Crawford about using QuikSpot and QuikPunch.

Canadian Stage brought Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night to Toronto’s High Park Amphitheatre this summer, one of Canada’s largest outdoor theatre productions, drawing over 30,000 people across its two-month run.

Rigged on vertical truss towers around the 35-metre stage and tucked into foliage at the edges, the fixtures lit the action, up-lit the surrounding trees, and layered colour into the set from the sides. IP65-rated wired and wireless, they held up through Toronto’s unpredictable summer weather, and cutting the lighting rig’s power draw freed up capacity for the rest of the production.

Game day! 🏈

For the Houston Texans’ Media Day ahead of today’s NFL London Game against the Jaguars, Elite Edge needed a backwall that read futuristic on camera, fast to build, and faster to run. Chained together via DMX, the panels delivered dynamic glowing animations that made switching between scenes quick, seamless, and intuitive.

Working with Best Girl Lisa Emilie Øverjordet, Gaffer Levi Gawron Trøite takes us back to the early lighting tests for a scene shaped by spontaneity, rhythm, and atmosphere. The subtle movement of the light, timed to follow the clock, brought a natural sense of time passing.

For Potsy Ponciroli's near-wordless film starring Alan Ritchson, Ben Foster and Shailene Woodley, Cinematographer John Matysiak and Gaffer Jason Velez lit the street, the windows and the wet pavement as if a huge vintage neon sign hung overhead. The sign itself came later, in VFX.

"In some ways, we weren't trying to recreate the source as much as recreate the memory of what that source did to a place—the color it put into someone’s skin, the way it reflected off wet pavement or glass, or how quickly it disappeared into darkness." - Cinematographer John Matysiak
