What a joy it is to share the Best of Animayo with the audience at LightBox Expo 2026!

There is something truly special about bringing our award-winning films to the animation community, seeing how they connect with the audience, and feeling the enthusiasm, emotion and love with which each short film is received.

Sharing these stories, celebrating the incredible talent behind them, and connecting with people who are as passionate about animation as we are is what makes this experience so rewarding.

A heartfelt thank you to the LightBox community for welcoming Animayo with such warmth and making every screening a wonderful celebration of animation.

This is what it is all about: great stories, extraordinary talent, and a community that brings us all together through the magic of animation.

It is always a joy to connect with audiences here in Los Angeles, and especially at LightBox Expo 2026, at the Pasadena Convention Center.

It was a genuine pleasure to share the award-winning films from Animayo International Film Festival, in a screening presented by Tony Bancroft director of Mulan and Damián Perea, Director of Animayo.

This year, we were delighted to welcome several of the filmmakers whose work was featured in the programme: Avery Kroll, presenting The Piano; Paulo García, presenting 18 Months; Sandra Powers, presenting Bestias de la Muerte; Nigel Tierney, presenting Addicted to It; and Amos Sussigan, presenting Pigeons.

Bringing these extraordinary creators together to share their films and connect with the animation community is always a very special experience. Events like LightBox remind us of the power of animation to bring people together through creativity, emotion and storytelling.

Our heartfelt thanks to Bobby Chiu and Jim Demonakos for their wonderful hospitality, as always, and to the entire LightBox team and the audience for welcoming us with such warmth and affection.

Thank you for making us feel at home. We look forward to returning to LightBox!

We are thrilled to be back at Sony Animation with Animayo, presenting The Best of Animayo 2026, featuring this year’s award-winning short films!

This screening was especially meaningful because it had been a while since we had brought together so many of the short film directors in the same program. Having them there to share their work, their stories, and their creative journeys made the experience truly special. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate some of the best animated shorts of the year and connect with so many talented people from the animation industry.

A heartfelt thank you to Jessica Barker and the entire Sony Animation team for always welcoming us so warmly and making us feel at home. It’s a pleasure to be back!

The Animayo USA Tour Kicks Off in New York! 🇺🇸🎬

Today, we officially launched our US tour at the prestigious Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, sharing our passion for animation with students, aspiring artists, and industry professionals.

Joined by talented animators and Paulo García, director of the short film 18 Months, we hosted a special screening and Q&A, offering an inside look at the creative process, the making of the film, and the artistry behind bringing an animated story to life.

It was a pleasure to connect with the next generation of artists, exchange ideas and experiences, and continue building bridges between emerging talent and the international animation industry.

A special thank you to Douglas Easterly for hosting The Best of Animayo at Pratt Institute, and to Douglas Vitarelli, President of ASIFA-East, for helping make this event possible!

The journey continues. Next stop: Los Angeles! ✨
