the professionals of our field for our responsiveness and the quality of our service (broadcasters, producers, program owners…)
In 1986, driven by his love of films seen in their original language, our CEO Denis Auboyer developed a subtitling technique for the cinema using laser engraving. This was a technological revolution, destined to transform the world of subtitling, bringing both clarity and precision to the obscurity of film theatres. It was revealed to the cinema industry at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival with the film Bird, the first film ever to be subtitled using this technique, presented by Warner Brothers and Clint Eastwood. As a partner of the major international film festivals and as closely involved with auteur films as with the biggest blockbusters, we respond to technological developments and the demands of our customers by offering a full-range of solutions that include a system for projecting subtitles as well as a subtitling solution for digital cinema. Many films subtitled by Monal Group have won prestigious awards : there have been over 20 Golden Palms, 14 Golden Bears and 14 Golden Lions.
