Alston Moor Film presents

SINNERS
'Making vampires sexy again!'

Wednesday, 21st October at 7.30pm
at Alston Town Hall

Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Michael B. Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.

Ryan Coogler’s horror film Sinners (2025) uses a supernatural vampire story set in the Jim Crow-era American South to examine identity, survival and the historic exploitation of Black culture.

Coogler takes no hostages, escalating the action into all-out mayhem. But he also delivers riffs on religion, Jim Crow, the power of music as a spiritual force.

It's very rarely that I go to the Daily Express for an opinion, but....
this month's film, Boiling Point, has pushed me into it!
The sound quality was next to appalling- or maybe actually appalling.
Despite our wonderful T-Loop system a couple of we hearing aid users (with T-Loop available), managed to discern round 20% of the dialogue. Someone with better audio ability said she could make out 50%.
A real shame because the film's tension was amazing and the acting hyper-realistic.

BBC One series Boiling Point, which stars famous British actor Stephen Graham, has kicked off tonight following the release of the successful film of the same name back in 2021.

Are you a fan of 'Masterchef' and 'Hell's Kitchen'?

Yes? Then come along to Alston Town Hall next Wednesday (16th September) for Alston Moor Film's next presentation.

Portraying the relentless pressue in a London restaurant kitchen as a head chef (Stephen Graham) wrangles with this team. It's the busiest day of the year plus there's a suprise visit from a Health and Safety Inspector to deal with!

The 2021 drama movie Boiling Point is special because it is shot in one single, continuous 90-minute take with no hidden cuts or editing tricks.

The One-Shot Technique

Real-time tension: The camera flows seamlessly through the kitchen and dining room, making the chaos feel immediate and authentic.

No room for error: The actors had to perform the entire 90-minute movie live from start to finish. If someone messed up a line or the camera dropped, they had to start all over again.
