Good Morning. Excellent turn out yesterday. This morning we are screening Zip and Zap an action and adventure for all the family (spanish with subtitles). All tickets for Zip and Zap are £3. At 3pm is the Seeker with is a beautiful film we will be screening this for free, so come and enjoy. This evening is Moonlight.

During the day we will be running scars and prosthetic workshops for free. So drop in and enjoy a film or two and play.

Hopefully a great cinema weekend coming up. We have some great films both features and short films. We are running animation workshops on Saturday and some special fx workshops on Sunday. All are welcome however the special fx workshops will require parental permission for anyone under 16. Thanks.

The weekend is coming. We are screening both days this weekend for the 3rd Fling! Film Festival. On Saturday we are showing The Lego Batman Movie, Beauty and the Beast, La La Land. We are also screening some short films created by young people including Offline (UK), Freelance (UK).

We are also running animation drop-in sessions for anyone who would like to have a go at stop motion.

We are also screening several Feature Films that have been submitted including Breaking Legs (think Footloose meets Mean Girls). On Sunday we also have a special presentation of The Seeker. Anyone who purchases a ticket for any of the other films can watch these two as a bonus.

Hooray Sing Saturday is with us. Films start from 3pm with Sing and then the excellent Trainspotting in the evening. Hopefully we will get a great turnout.

We do like to support UK films when made on small budgets with young talent. Check out this interesting film due to be shot in Liverpool shortly.

A few weeks ago we mentioned that we were looking into ways to make our cinema sustainable and expand what we can do. We have been working with a number of organisations and are in the process of getting funding and change how we operate. Currently Seaboard Film Society/ Tain Cinema is a voluntary organisation. This has served us well but it is important to be legally constituted, we are currently moving toward becoming a Community Co-operative. Run by the community, for the community. This is a new chapter in our 4 year history. It would be good to settle on a name that better represents where we are and what we do. Any thoughts? We will keep you update and if you want to be involved in the organisation then please get in touch.

So the kids are heading back to school soon. What better way is there than to spend time with friends enjoying great films? This weekend we will be screening Moana and Rogue One. You can also enjoy Popcorn, Nachos, Pizza Slices and, Hotdogs. So come along and have some fun.
