🎬✨ A LITTLE PRACTICAL MAGIC…

We’re incredibly proud to say that Location Assist worked on Practical Magic 2, starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.

Our involvement saw the Location Assist team supporting the production with traffic control, location services and unit base services — helping to keep things moving smoothly behind the scenes while a little movie magic was happening in front of the cameras.

Productions of this scale require a huge amount of coordination away from what eventually appears on screen, and it’s always fantastic to see a project we’ve been involved with finally make its way to audiences.

♻️ JULY’S RECYCLING FIGURES ARE IN.

Another month, another step towards reducing waste across the productions we support.

During July, 3 tonnes of waste were processed through our waste management system, with:

♻️ 53.17% recycled
🌍 99.83% diverted from landfill
⚡ Residual waste directed towards Energy from Waste wherever appropriate

And when it comes to the materials being recovered at the MRF, wood, soil, cardboard, metal and hardcore are doing much of the heavy lifting.

It all adds up.

By separating waste properly on set and working with our recycling partners, we can keep valuable materials in circulation and landfill to an absolute minimum.

FROM ESSEX TO THE SPIDER-VERSE…

The Location Assist team were proud to provide security, traffic management and equipment hire for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, helping to keep things safe, secure and moving smoothly while filming was underway.

It might not be quite as glamorous as swinging between skyscrapers, but somebody has to keep things running properly at ground level.

What exactly is DMR?

If you've ever seen DMR on one of our waste reports and wondered what it means, here's the answer.

DMR stands for Dry Mixed Recycling – a collection of clean, dry recyclable materials that can all go into the same recycling stream.

That includes items like cardboard, paper, plastic bottles, drinks cans and tins.

On location, separating DMR from general waste helps divert more material away from landfill, reduces disposal costs and keeps productions on track with their sustainability goals.

It's a small change that makes a big difference – and one of the many ways we're helping productions leave a lighter footprint.
