Hewlett Court

Hewlett Court Hewlett Court was opened in 1979 as Sheltered Accommodation and belongs to the East Lancashire Masonic Charity [ELMC].

Hewlett Court supports people towards independent living in a safe and caring environment in which catering is provided. Hewlett Court was opened in 1979 as a Masonic Retirement Home for the elderly. The home belongs to the East Lancashire Masonic Charity [ELMC] which has cared for Freemasonsโ€™ and their dependants for over a century. The home prides itself on its friendly family atmosphere and eve

ryone is welcome. Hewlett Court is registered with the Local Authority as โ€˜Sheltered Housingโ€™. It is not a Nursing or Convalescent Home and therefore the home is not permitted to provide nursing care to residents and short stay guests. Becoming a resident at Hewlett Court can be a difficult and momentous decision for both the potential resident and their family. The Management Team fully understands that decision and treats everyone as an individual to ensure that the right decision is made. Before permanent entry is approved applicants must reside in the Home for a trial period of two weeks and then return to their normal accommodation. This is to ensure that they really do want permanent residence, and for their suitability for communal life in the Home. The Home is close to the local amenities; shops, post office and Doctors Surgery. It affords accommodation for a maximum number of 41 people full-time, plus one additional person or couples as a guest[s] on a pre-booked "holiday" basis. Services Available:

The ladies and gents enjoy a games afternoon on a Sunday! ๐ŸŽ‰

They have great fun playing a variety of card games, dominoes, and other tabletop games together. Not only do these activities bring lots of laughter and friendly competition, but they also help to keep minds active by encouraging concentration, memory, problem-solving, and social interaction ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŽฒ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธA Walk with Purpose: Burnley to Colne for Charity๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ

On Sunday 17 May 2026, Daniel and 9-year-old Chester took on an incredible challenge โ€” walking from Burnley Masonic Hall to Colne Masonic Hall to raise funds for the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
Covering an impressive 13.76km in just over 3 hours, the pair were joined along the route by Danielโ€™s father-in-law and several dedicated members of the East Lancashire Masonic Charity and the Province of East Lancashire.
The walk was filled with great spirit, laughter, support from fellow Freemasons, and even some memorable encounters with local wildlife along the canal route. ๐Ÿฆ†
From start to finish, the day showcased friendship, community, and a shared commitment to helping others.
Everyone involved should be enormously proud of the effort, determination, and charitable spirit shown throughout the day.
Thank you to all who supported the walk and donated to the Masonic Charitable Foundation. A total of ยฃ365 was raised. Every step taken helps make a difference to people in need.
