Hewlett Court Hewlett Court was opened in 1979 as Sheltered Accommodation and belongs to the East Lancashire Masonic Charity [ELMC].

Hewlett Court supports people towards independent living in a safe and caring environment in which catering is provided. Hewlett Court was opened in 1979 as a Masonic Retirement Home for the elderly. The home belongs to the East Lancashire Masonic Charity [ELMC] which has cared for Freemasonsโ€™ and their dependants for over a century. The home prides itself on its friendly family atmosphere and eve

ryone is welcome. Hewlett Court is registered with the Local Authority as โ€˜Sheltered Housingโ€™. It is not a Nursing or Convalescent Home and therefore the home is not permitted to provide nursing care to residents and short stay guests. Becoming a resident at Hewlett Court can be a difficult and momentous decision for both the potential resident and their family. The Management Team fully understands that decision and treats everyone as an individual to ensure that the right decision is made. Before permanent entry is approved applicants must reside in the Home for a trial period of two weeks and then return to their normal accommodation. This is to ensure that they really do want permanent residence, and for their suitability for communal life in the Home. The Home is close to the local amenities; shops, post office and Doctors Surgery. It affords accommodation for a maximum number of 41 people full-time, plus one additional person or couples as a guest[s] on a pre-booked "holiday" basis. Services Available:

๐ŸŒบ Hewlett Court in Bloom โ€“ Volunteers Needed! ๐ŸŒบ

Our dedicated ELMC volunteer, Paul Sellers, proudly holds the title of Head Groundsman at Hewlett Court and spends several hours each week keeping the grounds looking their best.

As well as mowing the grass, Paul looks after the gardens and surrounding areas, including:

๐ŸŒฟ Trimming trees and shrubs
๐ŸŒฑ Removing weeds
๐ŸŒธ Planting and maintaining flower tubs
๐Ÿ‚ Collecting and clearing large amounts of fallen leaves

Paul would love one or two volunteersโ€”ladies or gentsโ€”to lend a hand. Even if you can spare just a few hours each week, your help would make a real difference and be greatly appreciated.

Our ladies and gentlemen enjoyed another fantastic armchair exercise session with Naomi this afternoon. The session was fun, inclusive, and suitable for all abilities, giving everyone the opportunity to stay active while enjoying each otherโ€™s company.

These popular exercise sessions take place every Monday and are always well attended by our residents. A wonderful way to promote movement and wellbeing! ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Congratulations to Julie on completing the Cancer Research UK Race for Life on Sunday 5th July in loving memory of her late husband, Charles Ward. ๐Ÿ’•

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who supported her, Julie has raised an amazing ยฃ753.25, including Gift Aid, for Cancer Research UK.

Charles was a much-loved part of our Hewlett Court community, and we know he would be so proud of Julie's determination and of everyone who donated to such an important cause. We are incredibly proud too.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, shared kind words and encouraged Julie along the way. Every pound raised helps fund life-saving cancer research and brings us one step closer to beating cancer.

The ladies and gents gathered in the lounge this sunny Friday morning for a wonderful performance from Hannah Wright! ๐ŸŽตโ˜€๏ธ

Hannah put on a fantastic show, filling the room with music and smiles. There was plenty of singing along, dancing in seats, and lots of happy faces throughout the performance. To round off a lovely morning, everyone thoroughly enjoyed waving their Union Jack flags as Hannah performed a beautiful rendition of a Vera Lynn classic - Weโ€™ll Meet Again.
