We are so excited to be screening a series of beautiful shorts for our screening event coming up on Sunday 15th November! One of these gorgeous films is 'Nenekuş (Meditating with Flowers)' - a touching short from Istanbul-based Turkish film maker/writer Elif Fatima Gorken. Gorken weaves intergenerational healing, storytelling, gender and Islamic mysticism to explore visual storytelling from a decolonial perspective. The film charts the intense relationship Elif's grandmother has to her plants, and the profundity of the presence of plants in her life. Supplemented with family photos + a poetic voice-over, Nenekuş is a beautiful snapshot of a matriarch’s life and sacrifice. Tickets: bit.ly/31UxWVx
