The last 2 lots of posters didn't get a great deal of interest so I'll try one more batch, because I've got them photographed and ready, and then I'll probably give it a rest for the summer holidays, unless of course they sell remarkably well.
The reason we are selling posters is to help get the cinema back into a more stable position financially. The Covid Lockdowns and the years since have cost us a lot of money, we're still paying back the £50,000 'bounce-back loan' and as I'm now over 55 I was able to draw out the money from my pensions which I used to keep the cinema going so any help you can give we will be extremely grateful for.
Initially a lot of people wanted to donate money but as we are a business not a charity I wasn't sure how this would work in terms of accountability so the idea is that you are able donate to keep the cinema running by buying a poster, even if you then throw it away or donate it to a charity shop for them to sell again.
I'll start these at a bid of £10, what I generally do is give them 2 shots at £10 and if they still haven't sold I'll drop them down to a starting bid of £5, unless they are particularly damaged and then I may accept less.
Going forward if you bid on a poster it must be paid for and collected from the cinema within 14 days otherwise the bid will be void and I'll either offer it to the next highest bidder or repost it and sell it again.
These posters are used or damaged posters that were displayed in the poster cases, often outside. This will include ones with pin holes in the corners, creases, folds or other damage from being out in the poster cases in all weathers and then being moved around from pile to pile for anything up to 20 years.
Our poster selling website Palace Cinema Poster Vault https://www.palacecinemapostervault.uk is getting plenty of attention, this has posters that are unused and in mint or near mint condition with prices appropriate to the condition and based on what we see elsewhere online.
The posters are all genuine cinema posters and are UK Quad size, 40 inches wide and 30 inches high (101.6cm X 76.2 cm), unless stated otherwise.
ALL OF THE MONEY RAISED GOES DIRECTLY TO HELPING KEEP THE PALACE OPEN.
Look at the photos to see what the extent of the damage is on each individual poster, some there's very little others more.
Use the comments to offer a bid.
