First opening its doors in 1931 as the Regent Super Cinema, our beloved venue has a rich and colourful history. After a brief chapter as a bingo hall, the Regent Charity was established in 1983 to preserve the heritage and spirit of this iconic building. Today, the Regent thrives as a non-profit, multi-purpose venue, welcoming over 100,000 visitors each year. We’re proud to be a welcoming, collabo

rative and creative organisation, offering a vibrant programme of film, live theatre, music, comedy and community events all year round. As we look ahead, our new five-year strategy sets out our commitment to expanding audiences, supporting our community, and investing in the future of the Regent.

Over the next 3 weeks we’ll be busy behind the scenes upgrading, refreshing and getting everything ready for your next visit, so there’ll be no films or shows until we reopen on Monday 22 June.

From Monday 1 - Sunday 21 June, we’ll be closed for our annual maintenance including technical upgrades, refurbishments, deep cleaning, and the launch of a new website.
