VIENNA SHORTS – May 26 to 31

Under the motto Eyes Wide Open, VIENNA SHORTS explores the attention economy in an age of information overload, artificial intelligence, and right-wing populist polarization from May 26 to 31.

More than 300 international short films will be screened in Vienna’s most beautiful cinemas, including competitions, portraits, late-night screenings, and children’s programs.

Submit Your Work to Screen at the BAFTA-Qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival 2026

Aesthetica is one of the UK’s most renowned events for innovative and inspiring storytelling and media. The festival is a global creative hub, showcasing groundbreaking talent across independent film, XR, games, podcasts and music.

Submissions for Aesthetica’s 16th edition are now open and they are looking for transformative stories, new perspectives and impactful projects across all genres.

This edition takes us from the Bolivian Andes to Manzanillo in Costa Rica, bringing stories about place and belonging, and how new generations are negotiating their space in this world.

16th Edinburgh Short Film Festival Regular Deadline on FRIDAY!

The Film Cult are building an open-access infrastructure for indie filmmakers, including affordable access to equipment, this would be a great resource for the city and they are holding an open day on May 15th at their centre in Appin Lane, with live music and networking.
