This intimate documentary goes behind the scenes of two of Hockney's blockbuster Royal Academy exhibitions. A Bigger Picture (2012) and 82 Portraits and One Still Life (2016), with rare, in-depth interviews and privileged access to his creative process. Following Hockney's death this June, it's a fitting and moving tribute to a true 21st-century master.

This Wednesday at 7:30pm we're screening a Blue Heron, a critically acclaimed, semi-autobiographical feature debut by director Sophy Romvari. The film as a moving, unshowy, and masterfully assembled memory piece exploring childhood trauma, family dysfunction, and the circular nature of grief through the eyes of a young girl.

Please note, for this screening The Maltings will be set out in a "relaxed summer screening" layout with large circular tables and chairs rather than the usual raked seating. Booking online and at the door per usual.
