Inauguration of Museum WW I and WW II
Early last year I was contacted by a company on behalf of the IWM to build numerous models for a new museum in Mauritius ,this is some of the letter sent to the various organisations yesterday
I hope all is good with you .
I am pleased to inform you that the Museum which bears the name of “ MAURITIAN EX-SERVICEMEN’S WORLD WAR I AND WORLD II TRIBUTE GALLERY” was inaugurated yesterday by our Prime Minister in the presence of other several eminent personalities.
The British High Commissioner to Mauritius was also present to that function.
The ceremony was a success and the Hon Prime Minister has expressed his appreciation on the work done thanked all International Organisations which supported us in this project.
I have attached some photos herewith
I would like to thank firstly Derek Hansen of Accurate Armour for putting my name forward for this and to Tony Graham of Code3Models for having faith in me also, all of my builds are previously posted on this page but these pics are from the museum itself

Managed to get some more modelling done and finished off these Terminators for a client, there are 10 multipose 35th scale Endoskeletons with two bases and 10 small bases(not included in the kits)along with these are 3 Hunter Killer Tanks again in 35th scale. The figures are simple enough to put together and I used matt black spray can as a base coat followed by a gloss black finishing coat to which I over sprayed very lightly with Alclad II Chrome ,I also used this method on all three tanks and it works very well at that scale, the Tanks went together reasonably well ,usual sanding of seams and filling small areas etc but no complaints. All three have posable head/turret,shoulders/arms ,guns and movable track allthough I wouldnt reccommend that as the track is quite flimsy, the bases I just dry brushed in shades of grey's and light browns with a matt black undercoat first,I also added a few more skulls to them before painting which are from green stuff gaming, the circular bases which are similar to Games Workshop style I built up with ready mixed polyfila and pressed various sizes of skulls into them before giving the same treatment as the larger bases. The skulls were painted white and then toned down when drybrushing the bases with a light brown/grey ,lastly I added red blue and clear leds to the heads/turrets,hope you like and thanks for looking,😉👍

these are all the models I have done for a new Museum in conjunction with the Imperial War Museum for a new African WW2 Museum on Mauritius 23 models in total and I threw in the grenades (excuse the pun)which were plastic kits from the 70's by LS,the unfortunate thing is I cant go across with them I am only taking them as far as Swansea, mostly 35th for the vehicles and 48th for the aircraft with 350th for the Warspite and Taiho the later is only just released in that scale as a kit, hope you like, thanks for looking👍😉

Sorry for all the pics but I have finished some more Eagles this month, rearanged my case for the big guys and restored, repainted and built some of the smaller Eagles and Hawk, there is a Transformer Airfix Eagle which has turned into a Dinky Eagle look alike ,then the V.I.P. eagle is a really old 80's Airfix Eagle that I had scratch built the interior of the cages, added pilots and extra frame work, landing gear came from the paragraphics etch set and the engine bells from the new MPC Eagle as I bought the aluminium set for that, next up is the old metal and resin WARP Eagle which I tokk the Lab pod from the MPC kit and added it to this one felt it looked better than on the old solid looking Airfix Eagle, then a standard Airfix/MPC Eagle ,I was going to use the original decals that came with the Airfix model although totally inaccurate it would have been authentic for the model but the protective sheet had stuck to them over the years and I didnt want to risk destroying them so I used the decals that came with the MPC special edition kit, then its a classic Airfix Hawk painted as per instructions lastly the new MPC Eagle and Hawk models,I have to say I am not a fan of supplying decals to substitute detail the hawk had 85 decals alone,I hope that the larger scale model has a bit more detail on it that will look more robust, the small one looks toy like in my opinion but thats just me,I did get Aluminium engine bells for both the Eagle and Hawk, cant remember now the chap that supplied them to me,if I remember I'll add it to post,on the Eagle it doesnt like the weight if its on the positionable stand tends to be tail heavy but thats not a serious problem, they could have opened up the window positions on the beak thats the only thing I can improve on,thanks for looking👍😉

My next piece completed this month I have had for a few years now its a Harryhausen piece and was sculpted by Joe Laudati, unfortunately you cant see the tiny glitter specs that I had painstakingly put on the fleece but they are there you would need to see it close up and in a good light a bit like me really...lol,hope you like it👍😉

This is Mrs Maynard from the Horror Movie "Zombie Flesh Eaters"or as it was called in the US "Zombi 2" I have to admit to not being a fan of this genre so when my friend bought this and asked me to paint it for him I had to say that I didnt know Bill Maynards wife....turns out she is nothing to do with that british actor. So I only had a few pictures of this poor woman to work from that I got from the internetI dont know if any Zombie officionado's will like it but Tom for whom the model was bought for is more than delighted with it,so its a big thanks from Tom to Douglas Lang who bought it for his Xmas and to me for painting it
