The countdown has begun for the 20th anniversary edition of the Hailsham Festival

And this year, we start by giving ourselves over to absolute pleasure, courtesy of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, which will be having a funtacular screening on the 11th of September at the Pavilion.

Arrive in style and be welcomed by actors dressed as some of your favourite Rocky Horror characters, who will greet guests with a free Rocky Horror-themed cocktail before the evening gets underway.

Then it’s time to test your knowledge in our Rocky Horror quiz, with a fantastic prize up for grabs, before we settle in for the film itself — the legendary, lipsticked, fishnetted musical phenomenon that still knows exactly how to bring an audience to life.

Dressing up is strongly encouraged, and there will be a prize for best dressed, so whether you’re going full Frank, channelling Magenta, greasing up to be Eddie (or his teddy) this is your chance to enter into the spirit of the occasion and not to dream it, but *BE* it.

You loved Helloween so much; we know that you're going to get very excited to see **un Films' latest tantalisingly terrifying horror, Harbinger.

Julia Piven, the sole survivor of the late serial killer Henry Decker, is lured back to the house she shared with Decker for a ghost hunting TV show. The crew discover Decker’s ‘Harbinger' - a sinister fairground fortune-telling machine.

As it reveals their grisly fates one by one, they find themselves trapped in the house as Decker’s spirit reaches out from beyond the grave to damn their souls in order to reclaim his place amongst the living and kill again!

We can't wait to see this one, and we're sure you won't be able to either! So come along to the screening on the 8th of August, for an evening of frightening fun!

See you there!

The ocean is calling.

Moana answers the Ocean’s call and, for the first time, voyages beyond the reef of her island of Motunui with the infamous demigod Maui on an unforgettable journey to restore prosperity to her people.

The live-action Moana starring Catherine Laga'aia and Dwayne The Rock Johnson, reprising the role of Maui, opens at the Pavilion from 14th - 23rd August.

The beautiful Art Deco Pavilion first opened in 1921, with its first-ever screening being Charlie Chaplin's The Kid!

It was then lovingly restored to its former glory in 1999 by HOPS (Hailsham Old Pavilion Society) and we are so proud of our beautiful venue.

It's also the perfect place for a celebration - since we reopened, we've hosted a whole host of different events from birthdays to work parties, private screenings and even weddings!

You too can hire the Pavilion for a private screening, and it can be all yours from £250, which includes up to 100 guests!

For more information, please contact our super-friendly team either by email on [email protected] or call us on 01323 841414 (or even pop into George Street for a chat!)

We can't wait to host you!

On Thursday, Charlie the Wonderdog joins forces with creatures from out of space to defeat next door's cat.

Then this weekend, the whole toy cupboard is faced with a new dilemma - a digital lilypad that threatens their whole way of life in Toy Story 5.

And last but not least, our rescheduled screenings of The Christophers , where an artist and his forger become firm friends during a plot to finish his unfinished works.

Please note the correction to the timing of Sunday's relaxed and includive screening of Charlie the Wonderdog.

Due to an error on the website, the start time is showing as 14:30, but it will begin at 14:15 and there will be no commercials at the beginning.

Things are heating up this week at the Pavilion! (Although, hopefully, the weather is cooling down!)

Tomorrow evening at 19:30 is the next in our Talking History Series. This month we are led by renowned local speaker Kevin Gordon, who takes us on a journey into the macabre with the morbidly fascinating tale of The Crumbles Murders.

Learn how the local constabulary dealt with these two cases and how it changed the way police investigations work, forever.

https://hailshampavilion.co.uk/.../talking-history.../

Then from Wednesday - Sunday, it's time to dip a toe into the not-that-polite society of Jacobean England with the fabulously ferocious Savage House.

Starring Claire Foy and Richard E Grant, this black comedy charts the fall and uhh.... fall of the Yorkshire Savage Family during the Jacobite uprising.

https://hailshampavilion.co.uk/events/savage-house/

Saturday sees the return of Saturday Morning Film Club, and this is a family favourite for the ages - The Love Bug. Enjoy this absolute banger (🫣🤣) of a film preceded by a 20-minute talk on the film.

https://hailshampavilion.co.uk/.../film-club-the-love.../

Then lastly, we round off the week with the marvellous wonder mutt, Charlie the Wonderdog, which is just a lot of fun and can be enjoyed by everyone at our relaxed and inclusive screening on Sunday afternoon.

Both screenings are part of Kids for a Quid!

Take care and see you soon!
