Josh O’Connor takes centre stage in Golden Boy, a gripping revival of Clifford Odets’ classic play, filmed live from the Almeida Theatre.

Joe Bonaparte is a gifted young violinist living in 1930s New York. But when the promise of fame and fortune draws him into professional boxing, he must decide how much of himself he’s willing to give up to succeed.

Directed by Sam Yates, Golden Boy is a powerful story about ambition, identity and the choices we make in pursuit of our dreams.

The production has received some excellent reviews, including five stars from The Sunday Times for Josh O’Connor’s performance, with The Telegraph calling it “a gripping revival”.

Before the world celebrated America's first crewed spaceflights, three exceptional women were helping make them possible.

Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson were gifted mathematicians working at NASA during the Space Race. Despite facing racial segregation and discrimination as women in a male-dominated workplace, their intelligence, determination and groundbreaking work helped change history.

Hidden Figures is an uplifting, moving and entertaining film about achievement, perseverance and the people whose contributions deserve to be recognised.

We're screening it on Tuesday 3rd November as part of Stitch and Screen, our special cinema event for film lovers who enjoy a little crafting alongside their films. The lights stay on low during the screening, so feel free to bring your knitting, crochet or another craft project and work away as you watch.

There's no pressure to craft, either — you're just as welcome to sit back and enjoy the film.

On Tuesday 27 October, we're bringing some spooky daytime fun to Leigh Film Factory with a 2pm screening of Co**se Bride.

Tim Burton's stop-motion favourite follows a young man who accidentally finds himself married to a mysterious co**se bride, taking him into a strange and wonderfully gothic world beyond the grave.

This screening is part of our Pay As You Feel programme, with support from Launch North West, so you can come along and enjoy the film whatever your budget.

There are films that helped create the language of horror itself - F.W. Murnau's Nosferatu is one of them.

Made in 1922, this extraordinary silent film introduced cinema audiences to Max Schreck's unforgettable Count Orlok and created images that have influenced vampire films for more than a century.

But we're not bringing Nosferatu to Leigh Film Factory simply to show you an important piece of cinema history.

We're creating an event around it.

On Saturday 24 October, Nosferatu will be accompanied by a LIVE electronic soundtrack performed by Sulk Rooms.

The combination of Murnau's extraordinary images, the darkness of the auditorium and a soundtrack being performed live makes this something you really need to experience on the big screen.

Sulk Rooms have previously visited the Factory with live soundtracks for The Man Who Laughs and The Hands of Orlac. This time, they're taking on one of the most iconic horror films ever made.

Our final film of Fear at the Factory 2026 is one of the greats.

David Cronenberg's The Fly takes the familiar idea of an experiment gone wrong and turns it into something far more disturbing — and far more tragic.

Seth Brundle's transformation is one of the most memorable examples of body horror ever put on screen, but the film is much more than its famous effects. At its heart is a story about love, loss and watching someone you care about slowly become something you no longer recognise.

Starring Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis, The Fly remains one of Cronenberg's defining films and one of the essential horror films of the 1980s.

And what better way to end Fear at the Factory than with a film this gloriously horrible?

HORROR LEGEND ROBERT ENGLUND IS PINOCCHIO'S CRICKET

Yes, you read that correctly.

Robert Englund - the horror legend best known as Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street - provides the voice of Cricket in Pinocchio Unstrung.

And as you'll see from this clip, this isn't exactly the wise and wholesome companion you might remember.

We're screening Pinocchio Unstrung on Friday 23 October as part of Fear at the Factory, bringing this very twisted take on the familiar story to the big screen.

Doors open: 6.30pm / Film starts: 7.30pm
