We’ve loved having magazines at all our latest screenings

As our brilliant media partner, they bring a whole extra layer to the cinema experience, thoughtful, beautifully crafted, and always championing film in the most exciting ways.

There’s something special about audiences picking up a copy and taking a piece of the experience home with them.

Huge thanks to the Little White Lies team for supporting what we do and helping us celebrate cinema the way it deserves.

Well that was fun! Breeze programmer, Madeleine Casey , and The Banjo Boys director, Johan Nayar, were interviewed by Jackie P on Nottingham's 97.5 Kemet fm last week ahead of the screening + Q&A of Johan's debut feature doc about the incredible Madalitso Band tomorrow at 8.15pm at Savoy Cinema. On Thursday we'll be in Bristol's Everyman at 6pm doing it all over again!

We are really looking forward to connecting with Nottingham and Bristol's music and film loving communities, especially anyone with any connections to Malawi - you will LOVE this film - and any young emerging filmmakers out there aged 19-25. We have a brand new submissions category to give your films a leg up onto the festival circuit. Come see an unforgettable film and find out more!

For the second year in a row, we are collaborating with the Aswan International Women’s Film Festival through an exchange of films that centre women. This week, AIWFF will be screening a showcase of five powerful and empowering shorts from our 10th Anniversary programme last October created by, starring, and about women. Each of these films is a testament to women’s resilience and the importance of using our voices. We are proud to have them representing us in Aswan!

The LBFF @ AIWFF Showcase Line-up:

-Egg Timer, dir.
On her 30th birthday, Megan is confronted with opinions from both her family and her own ovarian eggs and must decide who to listen to.

filmworks

-Of All the Things, dir.
A mother-daughter bond is tested by the mother’s hoarding disorder.

-The Secret Assistants, dir.
As Sophie’s interview with titan of industry Henry Mann descends into a squalid power play, she must choose between ambition and integrity.

-The Weight, dir.
