Join us this Sunday 13 Sept for a superb afternoon of film, watching Jean-Luc Godard’s legendary sixties debut A BOUT DE SOUFFLE (Breathless) and Richard Linklater’s modern day love letter to it, NOUVELLE VAGUE. Buffet lunch available - deadline for buffet booking = 6pm TODAY, Wed 9 Sept (see below).

Widely considered one of the best films ever made, A BOUT DE SOUFFLE is Jean-Luc Godard’s iconic example of French New Wave filmmaking starring Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg. A small-time crook, hunted by the authorities for a car theft and the murder of a police officer, attempts to persuade a hip American journalism student to run away with him to Italy.

Director Richard Linklater’s NOUVELLE VAGUE recreates the energy and style of Jean-Luc Godard’s original shoot and the creative chaos that dared to flout the cinematic conventions of the time.

See one or both films and join us for a buffet lunch in the Arts Centre between films: £20 per person, must be booked in advance by emailing [email protected]. Deadline for meal bookings: 6pm on Wed 9 Sept.
