Concerteenies joins Showroom’s first PLAY festival, hosting a film screening of their delightful Musical Story: The Duck with No Luck.

Filmed at Sheffield's City Hall, the film features narrator Polly Ives, bassoonist Daria Phillips and pianist Annabelle Lawson performing new music composed by award-winning Paul Rissmann, with digital animations by Victor Craven. It's based on the much-loved children's book by Jonathan Long, illustrated by Korky Paul and published by Oxford University Press.

The screening is hosted live by presenter Polly Ives and bassoonist Eleanor Mills. Learn the songs, hear the bassoon up-close, and explore the characters and adventures in the story.

Join us in the Cafe Bar from 10am for FREE craft activities and to buy a copy of the signed book. Ideal for children aged 2-6 years and their families.

Showroom’s Statement on the closure of Curzon Sheffield

We're so sorry to hear that Curzon Sheffield is closing on 29 June.

Losing a cinema is a loss for the whole city, and we're thinking of everyone who worked there and everyone who loved it.

We know how hard these years have been for independent and art house cinemas, because we feel it too.

These spaces matter, and they only survive when people choose them.

To the Curzon team: thank you, and you'll be missed.
