Today is ME/CFS awareness day. There is no cure, research is woefully underfunded, and many people suffer medical gaslighting.
I spent today doing something that I haven't been able to do in a long time. Stone-balancing.
Since being diagnosed 3 years ago, I haven't been able to walk on pebbly beaches for long before I start to get tired and experience high levels of pain.
Before, I would spend about 3 hours every other day walking the beach, cleaning the plastic waste, and using it my artwork. Which I miss dearly.
So stone balancing today was a little win, which I will savour. Relaxing and calming, being in an almost meditative state, purely focused on the stones, takes all of the thought off this relentless and depressing disease.
Thanks for reading.
