It is not affiliated to the new cinema which opened in December 2018. This page is dedicated to the life and times of the Rex Theatre in Wilmslow, Cheshire, England. It opened in 1936 and during it's reign as a major theatre touring venue it was host to many famous stars of the day. This iconic building holds many memories to the people of Wilmslow and further afield. My family had strong connecti

ons with the Rex and the owners and I am privileged to have several items of memorabilia. It ceased being a theatre in 1985 and eventually closed completely in 1995 after a 10 year period of being a cinema.
