We had a good audience reaction of 84% last night to the screening of "The Life of Chuck." A story told in 3 parts of the life of Charles Krantz [Chuck]; it explored the idea that an individual is an entire universe and on their death, their vast internal world of memories and experiences dies with them. It was a charming, beautifully scripted film and who would have guessed Tom Middleston could dance like that!

Join us for our next screening on Thursday 11 June, when we will be screening The Life of Chuck

With fantastic performances from a cast including Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Karen Gillan, this life-affirming, genre bending tale tells the story of three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz.

We didn't taken the decision to show The Voice of Hind Rajab lightly, we knew it would be a hard film to watch. A drama centred around the real life recording of a child trapped in a car and under IDF fire in Gaza, pleading for help from the Red Crescent volunteers, was profoundly disturbing. The distress of Hind Rajab and the volunteers who tried desperately to save her over several hours was heartbreaking.
At the end of the film there was a stunned silence, with most people staying to watch the closing credits and to process what they had seen. However hard it was to watch, almost all of the audience felt that it was an important film to have been screened and to know that by this film Hind Rajab's voice was heard.

Come along on Thursday (21 May) for a screening of the stunning drama The Voice of Hind Rajab🎬

This Oscar and BAFTA nominated film, tells the emotional story of Red Crescent volunteers who receive an emergency call from a 6-year-old girl trapped in a car under IDF fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her.

Described as essential viewing and profoundly moving, this is a film not to be missed.

As expected "I Swear" went down very well last night, with an almost perfect audience reaction score of 99% - mostly "excellent" with a few "very good".
People were very moved by this film with comments such as " I wasn't going to come as I didn't think I would like it, but I cried all the way through" and" Very moving and at the same time funny. It will only be education that allows as to accept people with Tourette's and have the ability to understand"

We were incredibly lucky to have a speaker, Pippa McClounan from Tourettes Action join us last night. Pippa explained the work of the charity and after the film took questions from the audience. It is a small national charity doing amazing work and anybody who wishes to donate can use the barcode below.

This fantastic film tells the story of John Davidson, who was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome at an early age, highlighting his struggles and challenges he faced on his journey to becoming a campaigner raising public understanding of the impacts people face.

And, it’s the perfect opportunity to find out more about Tourette’s Syndrome, as we will be joined by a speaker from Tourettes Action a support and research charity working to improve the lives of people living with Tourettes Syndrome.

We had a good audience reaction of 83% to last night’s screening of How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies. The film provided a thought provoking insight into Thai family life - I think some audience members shed a few tears at the end!

We hope you can join us for our next screening on May 7th of the Oscar winning “I Swear” which will be preceded by a brief talk by a representative from the charity Tourettes Action.
