One of the oldest cinemas in the United Kingdom, the Electric Picture House Cinema opened in 1913 and was completely refurbished in 2005. The Electric Picture House concentrates on providing a mix of popular and quality films offering new releases in an extensive weekly programme. Patron of the cinema is playwright Catherine Johnson, who wrote the script and screenplay for the film Mamma Mia! Set
