BIAFF's major goal is to be an international event designed to enhance cultural exchange, understanding, and collaboration between film makers, producers and film critics from various countries. During past years the honorary guests of festival were - Bela Tarr (Hungary), Nuri Bilge Ceylan (Turkey), Krzystof Zanussi, Zbygnev Rybchinski, Jerzy Radziwilowicz, Jerzy Sturr (Poland), Pawel Pawlikoski

(UK), Jos Stelling (Nethelands), Abass Kiarostami, Manijet Hekmat, Ramtin Lavafipour (Iran), Sidiqq Barmak (Afghanistan), Mikheil Kobakhidze (France/Georgia), Nino Kirtadze (France/Georgia) etc. BIAFF program consists of several sections:
• International competition - feature, short, Documentary films
• Georgian Panorama
• Masters collection - films of well-known film directors
• Meet the Jury - films of jury member film directors

Our Story

BIAFF- Batumi International Art-house Film Festival is an annual event held in Batumi (Georgia) in middle of September. The major goal of BIAFF is to enhance cultural exchange, understanding and collaboration between film makers, producers and film critics from various countries, provide the opportunity to film lovers to see the newest art-house films and meet famous film makers at festival. During past years the honorary guests of festival were - Bela Tarr (Hungary), Nuri Bilge Ceylan (Turkey), Krzystof Zanussi, Zbygnev Rybchinski, Jerzy Radziwilowicz, Jerzy Sturr (Poland), Pawel Pawlikoski (UK), Jos Stelling (Nethelands), Abass Kiarostami, Manijet Hekmat, Ramtin Lavafipour (Iran), Sidiqq Barmak (Afghanistan), Mikheil Kobakhidze (France/Georgia), Nino Kirtadze (France/Georgia) etc.
