Inspiration.

Not just for the music, but now more than ever, for the visual — the image, the gesture, the semiotic myth.

Sometimes it comes by design.
Sometimes entirely by chance — a chain reaction of moments.

The idea was to shoot outside.

Then it started to rain.

So we moved inside.

And suddenly the shot was there.

CHAPTER 35 — LEAVE FROM THE FRONT
On holiday from the frontline.

A visit to Tate Modern — Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and the artists around them, alongside later works paying homage to Kahlo and her influence on identity, sexuality and politics.

For me, a mixed affair. Some works resonated, others felt less at home.

But inspiration isn't always about loving everything you see.

Sometimes it's the building.
Sometimes a single image.
Sometimes simply stepping away long enough to return to the front with fresh eyes.
