Clifden Film Society Presents 'Best in Show' screening this Monday 20th April at 7:30pm in the Station House Theatre in Clifden. Directed by Christopher Guest and starring Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy, Jennifer Coolidge and Parker Posey.

In this acclaimed 2000 mockumentary from director Christopher Guest, a camera crew follows an eccentric group of enthusiasts as they prepare to enter their dogs in the prestigious Mayflower Dog Show. With a wonderful ensemble cast - including an earlier screen pairing for future Schitt's Creek collaborators Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy - Best in Show remains a joyful, playful satire.

Clifden Film Society presents 'No Other Choice' screening on Monday 13th of April at 7:30pm in the Station House Theatre in Clifden. Directed by Park Chan-wook and starring Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin and Park Hee-soon.

Yoo is a paper expert who is abruptly fired when his company is taken over. Yoo is determined to keep his home and sustain his family’s lifestyle. Desperate, he sets up a fake job ad to identify the more qualified candidates in his specialist field and vows to take them out of the running by any means necessary…

Clifden Film Society Presents 'The Ballad of Wallis Island' screening this Monday 6th of April at 7:30pm at the Station House Theatre in Clifden.

Folk musician Herb McGwyer made his name in a duo with former creative and romantic partner Nell Mortimer. Now a struggling solo artist, Herb accepts a lucrative offer from eccentric lottery winner Charles Heath to perform a private gig on a remote island. But Charles has also invited Nell to play - forcing Herb into an unexpected reunion.

Clifden Film Society Presents 'Palestine 36' on Monday 30th March at 7:30pm in the Station House Theatre in Clifden. Directed by Annemarie Jacir and starring Jeremy Irons, Liam Cunningham and Robert Aramayo.

Palestine 36 chronicles the beginnings of the 1936-1939 Arab Revolt by Palestinian Arabs against British colonial rule. Weaving together multiple character strands and using striking archival footage to create emotional engagement with the characters’ respective destinies, it sets up the cruelty and injustice of the decades that would follow - eventually leading us to what we are witnessing today.

The second screening of our 2026 Spring Programme is the French comedy-drama 'Better Days' (Des Jours Meilleurs) screening on Monday the 2nd of March at 7:30pm in the Station House Theatre in Clifden.
Suzanne, a widowed mother of three still grieving for her husband, has turned to alcohol to ease her pain, but is having an increasingly tough time maintaining a functioning façade. Until an accident on the way to school changes everything! Social services give Suzanne no choice: if she wants to keep custody of her kids, she must go into rehab.
