We are showing our next film, Better Days, on Sunday 12th April at 7.30 p.m. @ the Thomas MacDonagh Museum.

Better Days is a French Comedy drama about a group of women bond together in rehab and try to change their lives for the better.

They say you should never meet your heroes because they don't always live up to your expectations but this doesn't seem to be the case with one such man who has lived in Ireland until his death in January 2022.

Patrick Lydon was the main driver of a string of community development projects in the Kilkenny region over 40 years. "He was always a man full of ideas, ambition (for community- never himself), generosity, energy and patience: an uncommon combination of virtues."

This Sunday we are showing Eamon Little’s documentary " Born That Way " , probably the most poignant picture you'll see in 2025. A portrait and celebration of Patrick Lydon, a social activist and former music journalist who co-founded the Camphill Movement, a home and centre dedicated to not just caring for people with diverse mental abilities and challenges but providing them with social nourishment. This documents Patrick’s final year as he succumbs to motor neuron disease (MND) while recounting his journey and life’s work.

Yes, you’ll be in tears; but in this time of great division you’ll also see what a powerful effect just one person can still have on the world.

We are delighted to have Eamonn Little present on Sunday with us and will be available for Q & A's after the screening.
