Lights Off Production We believe in stories. We have been engaging with diverse people to address complex questions through At Lights Off Productions, we believe in stories.

Over the years we have had the opportunity to engage with diverse people to address complex questions through our stories. And we have been sharing them through our plays and films at different places, reaching out to a wider audience. We also conduct workshops to foster participation, dialogue and learning. Our plays have been staged across venues including Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Alliance Franca

ise Bangalore, Indianostrum Theatre (Pondicherry) and Spaces (Chennai). We performed 'Lights Out!', an adaptation of the play by Manjula Padmanabhan at Kala Ghoda Festival and 'Closer' an adaptation of Patrick Marber's play at Deccan Herald Theatre Festival. Our short film 'Little Less Something' was screened at Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy as part of their Gender Studies program and at Queer Film Festivals in Pune, Bangalore and Mumbai. Our feature film 'Joint Trip' was screened in the Film Bazaar at IFFI, Goa.

You're sitting at The Edge of Heaven. Looking at an almost perfect world. Friendship, family and the first flutterings of love. Suddenly, an absurd tragedy strikes, you're forced to reckon with questions of revenge, death and morality. These have never been more pertinent in India than today, at a time we need to look at forgiveness and acceptance as our salvation. You're sitting at The Edge of Heaven, come inside.

Two boys Riaz and Abidh, break out into a quarrel during a football game. Riaz, in a fit of rage, points a gun at Abidh and then shoots. Abidh dies immediately. Riaz is sentenced to death, by the powers to be. A few moments before his public lynching, at the townsquare where all the criminals are executed, Abidh's mother is asked if she will forgive Riaz and spare him from being hanged to death. Will she?

The story is set in Iran at a time when around 700 people in a year, were publicly hanged for the crime they committed.
The play has been created in India, at a time when we need to look at forgiveness even more closely, rather than resorting to revenge.
