Punjabi Cinema The Punjabi Cinema is the Punjabi language film industry in the states of Punjab in India and Paki As of 2009, P.F.I.

The first Punjabi film to be released was in the provincial capital of the Pakistani Punjab Lahore, its affectionately called Lollywood by people living outside of Pakistan in the Western Hemisphere. Lollywood is based in the city of Lahore lending its name to the Lolly part and Wood being the latter part of American Film Industry Hollywood. It has been generally called Punjwood again by western a

udiences, a portmanteau of Punjab and Hollywood. ( Punjabi Film Industry) has produced between 900 and 1,000 movies. The average number of releases per year in the 1970s was nine; in the 1980s, eight; and in the 1990s, six. In 1995, the number of films released was 11; it plummeted to seven in 1996 and touched a low of five in 1997. The fate of Punjabi film industry changed in 2002 when Harbhajan Mann's first movie “JEE AAYAN NU” hit the screens. This was the first Punjabi film to be appreciated by audiences all over the world. It completed 50 days on the big-screen and was declared a super-hit. Punjabi’s all over the world praised Harbhajan Mann’s vision and courage. With renewed interest, the Punjabi cinema has seen a revival with more releases every year featuring bigger budgets, home grown stars as well as bollywood actors of Punjabi descent taking part. Today, we all feel immensely proud of our language and our cinema; all this has been possible due to HM’s sheer determination.

He made is debut with the album "Chakkh Lai" which went on to became an instant success and brought him into the limelight in the Punjabi Music Industry. He then went on to further his success with albums like "Nasha," "Phulkari," "Phulkari 2 Just Hits" and "Gangster." His 2012 song "Angreji Beat" a collaboration with Honey Singh for his album International Villager stormed the Punjabi Music Charts worldwide and featured in Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone's Bollywood film Cocktail that released in July 2012.

Gippy Grewal is an Indian singer and actor. His real name is: Rupinder Grewal. The singer was born on January 2, 1982 in the Koom Kalan village, near Ludhiana in Punjab. The singer was first started singing in 2003. He has several songs and albums. In 2010, Gippy Grewal officially broken with the album” Desi Rockstar”.

Everyone was captivated by the beautiful album that was released together with producer Aman Hayer. Besides singing, the singer also started acting.

In 2010 the singer played a supporting role in the film” Mel Karade Rabba ‘. In 2011 Gippy Grewal had an own film called Jihne Mera Dil Luteya. The film was an incredible success across India. In the film played the famed actress Neeru Bajwa” and” singer” Diljit Dosanjh. This year, the singer also released a film Mirza namely” The Untold Story” made by Baljit Singh . There will come an upcoming film called Carry On Jatta.
