In the year 1969, our founder member Dr. Phani Sharma envisioned to provide the best cine-theater services in the city of Guwahati, Assam. Determined and confident with his plan, Dr. Sharma started working on his dream project and completed it within the 31st of December 1970. He faced many challenges on the way: the site for Anuradha was in a part of the city that was scarcely inhabited, and had
no arrangement for public transportation. Dr Sharma himself arranged the first rickshaws and buses to Anuradha from nearby Chandmari, in the hopes of mitigating this situation and securing a loyal audience. On 1st of January 1971, Anuradha cine-auditorium was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Mahendra Mohan Chowdhury and finally opened for public with Dharmendra & Hema Malini starrer and Bhappi Sonie directed film "Tum Haseen Main Jawaan". In an age that faces a growing number of multiplexes belonging to nation-wide chain corporations, Anuradha Cineplex remains a thriving local business dedicated to providing the best quality services to its customers. Over the years, we have renovated and introduced a number of facilities that any multiplex would have, and at an affordable rate.
