DocedgeKolkata, Asian Documentary Forum is an international event attended by some of the most noted documentary makers from across the globe along with the biggest names in the film funding and broadcasting world. The forum serves as a platform for established and new documentary makers to pitch their films for funding.It also features intensive training and mentoring sessions by vastly experien
ced tutors, for all attending filmmakers working on new projects for guidance and garnering funding. This gathering of such talent ,naturally ,also acts as a fora for discussion on contemporary styles , storytelling techniques and open discussions. Over a span of 7 days, Docedge also conducts Master Classes by internationally acclaimed documentary makers and a series of Film Screenings of films by renowned documentary makers.
2 days are dedicated for projects to pitch to an international panel consisting of broadcasters ,producers and foundations. To add further dimension to the event,the gathering also includes carefully selected observers and specially invited guests who participate in the contributory discussions on the project improvement. Note-: Although the event has attendance from around the globe including Europe and Americas,the entries for pitching projects at the Forum are open only to Indian and Asian filmmakers.

DRI Story
Documentary Resource Initiative (DRI) is engaged in documentary campaign through training, skill development workshops, pitching forum, fellowship and creation of innovative documentary films. The institute is devoted to promote independent artistic and socially engaging documentary through intensive professional mentoring, screening of path breaking films and exchange of critical dialogues among the community through cross cultural creative collaboration. DRI also widens the audience base by facilitating continuous dialogue between the audience and documentary filmmakers.
Based in Kolkata, the Documentary Resource Initiative (DRI) is a not-for-profit organization registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961.
DocedgeKolkata, Asian Forum for Documentary
DocedgeKolkata, Asian Forum for Documentary is an incubation, pitching and networking platform for Indian and Asian filmmakers to develop best practices of storytelling skill. The forum is one of the most vibrant documentary platforms in Asia creating co-production opportunities and creative collaborations for independent filmmakers who speak distinctly with their own voices.
DOCUMENTOR
Documentor is a unique workshop initiative of DRI to evoke quality discourses among the young filmmakers and media students. The 4-day interactive workshop intends to create an awareness of and exposition to the high quality artistic actuality storytelling.
The workshop series is taking place in small towns and underprivileged regions where storytelling ecology is completely intimidated by the mainstream commercialism.
DRI with local partner institutions manages the workshops with screening, filmmakers’ interactions with analyses of content, creative approaches and artistic styles to advance the appreciation and skill of documentary storytelling in South Asian region.

An incubation lab to support early career filmmakers working on their recent projects through training and mentoring to enable them developing their ideas for higher creative applications. In two progressive sessions filmmakers are mentored intensively to develop their stories more efficiently with relevant visual approaches. The fellowship offers a seed grant to two promising projects.
Mind for Stories
MFS is initiated to bring path-breaking filmmakers – directors, cinematographer sound designers, editors and creative producers to have an informal interaction face to face with emerging storytellers and media students. This is an initiative to create opportunities for higher level of dialogical exchange among storytellers.
The series is designed to invite masters for informal sessions to reflect upon their vision and intriguing artistry assigned to their creative worldview.
