The Falcata was the primary sidearm of the Celtiberian warriors who fought against Carthage and Rome during the bloody conflicts of the 3rd–2nd centuries BC. When Hannibal crossed the Alps with his army in 218 BC, his Iberian and Celtiberian troops carried Falcatas — and Roman soldiers who survived encounters with them described their cuts as uniquely devastating.

The forward-curving blade concentrates mass toward the tip, increasing the force of a downward cut dramatically. The concave back edge was sometimes sharpened for the upper third of the blade, creating a false edge that made the weapon effective on the draw stroke as well. The characteristic horse head pommel — common on the finest examples — reflects the prestige of the horse in Iberian culture, where cavalry was a mark of aristocratic status.

Forged in the fires of history. The Scottish Claymore—or claidheamh-mòr ("great sword")—is more than just steel; it’s a symbol of the fierce spirit of the Highlands. From the 15th-century clan wars to the final charge at the Battle of Killiecrankie in 1689, this iconic design with its signature forward-sloping, quatrefoil-tipped quillons defined an era.

This hand-forged piece captures the soul of that time, featuring a high carbon steel blade, solid steel hilt, and a rich, stained wood grip. A timeless tribute to Scottish heritage.
