Katha Centre for Film Studies

Katha Centre for Film Studies We emphasize that films must be presented within the social, political, cultural and aesthetic histories of the contexts from which the films emerge.

Katha Centre for Film Studies actively involves young people from the city of Mumbai in its film dissemination activities through screenings, film festivals at educational and cultural institutions, and a film curating workshop series. Katha Centre for Film Studies is a non-profit organisation, presently involved in creating a platform for thinking, debating and critically analyzing cinema, as we

ll as, the modes of engaging with it. As a part of India Foundation of Arts' Curatorial Project, we organize a workshop on Film Curatorial Practices, where we intend to give younger generation of curators/cinephiles/film scholars a platform to present films not just because they like them, but to do so in a manner that is rigorous, thus opening up spaces for critical reflection and debate.
