Good films with small budgets get pushed out of theatres every week to make way for big budget films that more often than not end up disappointing us. We did, too. So, we picked up the phone, trawled the internet for tidbits, called everyone we knew to find a connection. The search paid off and we finally managed to track down some of India's most talented independent directors and pitched our big
idea to them: "Viman Talkies. Independent cinema"
Before we could even say "GANDU", we had some of the most amazing films reaching us via post or over the internet, from the very people who made these films. They don't care about the money - they've learned to live without it by now. All they want is for the world to see what they've poured their heart and soul into. All they want is for the world to recognize the immense talent that lies within our country if you only look beyond the suffocating confines of Bollywood. But we'll start small. Pune comes first.
