IIT Roorkee’s sports fest SANGRAM is a three day sports extravaganza which brings out the sporting spirit of the brilliant minds of the country and provides an ideal platform for all the sports enthusiasts to compete with each other. SANGRAM is devoted in creating a customized and unforgettable experience for each and every visitor, simultaneously providing unique opportunities to the youth for sh

owcasing their talents in front of extremely large audiences and top-notch judges with a behemoth footfall of more than 1500 students. An assortment of intriguing events held in venues across our campus, are something to cater to all tastes. Plethoras of events are hosted, accompanied by informal events like Sports Quiz, Arm Wrestling and movies becoming the abode of this ambrosial combination. Sangram’17 promises to be an exhilarating experience from beginning to end. So come be a part of this sporting action so that the memories last forever!

During these times, when each and everyone is safeguarding themselves from the prevailing Coronavirus pandemic, we take the painful decision to announce that Sangram'20 is postponed indefinitely.
Desperate times call for desperate measures, and taking the step to postpone the festival was a very difficult one, but it's for a greater good.
We hope that everyone stays safe!

Saina Nehwal (born 17 March 1990) is an Indian professional badminton singles player. She has won over 24 international titles, which includes eleven Super-series titles. She attained the world no. 1 ranking in 2015. She has represented India three times in the Olympics, winning a bronze medal in her second appearance.
Considered one of the most successful Indian sportspersons she was conferred the Padma Bhushan – India's third highest civilian award – in 2016. Previously, she had also been honored the nation's top two sporting honours, namely the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and the Arjuna Award.

Jinson Johnson (born 15 March 1991) is an Indian middle-distance runner who specialises in the 800 and 1500 metres event. In 2018 Commonwealth Games he finished fifth setting a new national record in the 1500 metres race, breaking a 23 years old record. Later, he won the gold medal in the men's 1500 metres as well as a silver medal in 800 metres at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Born on 13th March, 1982 at Idukki, Kerala, Preeja Sreedharan is a well-known Indian long-distance runner. She holds the current Indian national records in both the 10000 metres and 5000 metres disciplines, set at 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, in which she won a gold and a silver. She was honored with the Arjuna award for athletics in 2011. Sreedharan took retirement from the international circuit in 2015.

Happy 118th birthday Legends Real Madrid C.F.

Real Madrid club was founded on 6th March 1902 as Madrid Football Club has traditionally worn a white home kit since inception.

The word Real is Spanish for Royal and was bestowed to the club by King Alfonso XIII in 1920 together with the royal crown in the emblem. The team has played its home matches in the 81,044-capacity Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in downtown Madrid since 1947.

Real Madrid is one of three founding members of La Liga that have never been relegated from the top division, along with Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona. The club holds many long-standing rivalries, most notably El Clásico with FC Barcelona and El Derbi with Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid established itself as a major force in both Spanish and European football during the 1950s, winning five consecutive European Cups and reaching the final seven times. This success was replicated in the league, where the club won five times in the space of seven years. This team, which consisted of players such as Alfredo Di Stéfano, Ferenc Puskás, Francisco Gento and Raymond Kopa, is considered by some in the sport to be the greatest team of all time. In domestic football, the club has won 64 trophies; a record 33 La Liga titles, 19 Copa del Rey, 10 Supercopa de España, a Copa Eva Duarte, and a Copa de la Liga. In European and worldwide competitions, the club has won a record 24 trophies; a record 12 European Cup/UEFA Champions League titles, two UEFA Cups and four UEFA Super Cups. In international football, they have achieved a record six club world championships.

They are also the first club to win three consecutive Champions League trophies since its 1992 inception, by winning the 2016, 2017 and 2018 editions. The club was awarded with the recognition of FIFA Club of the 20th Century on 23 December 2000.[1] It also received the FIFA Order of Merit in 2004.[2] Added to this, Real is allowed to wear a multiple-winner badge on their shirt during UEFA Champions League matches as they have won more than five European Cups.

3 days full of rush and hustle, somewhere in between we were able to so now its time to celebrate all the ups that we achieved and all the downs from which we learnt a lot, let all of us unite at one place and enjoy the last night of with some beats of music preceded by award distribution and closing ceremony.
Lets make tonight memorable.
Join us at the closing ceremony followed by a music and dance night.
