Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has strongly criticized the recent fuel price hike, questioning why petrol and diesel prices were increased only after Assembly elections in five states had concluded.
In an official statement, Vijay called the ₹3 per litre increase in petrol and diesel "unacceptable" and alleged that oil companies fail to properly reduce prices when international crude oil prices fall, but quickly increase rates
later.
He further claimed the latest hike would badly affect poor and middle-class families, especially two-wheeler users, daily commuters and people already struggling with rising living costs.
