Sometimes, the stories that seem smallest contain the most layers.

In "Monte Calvario", a small Chilean town of just 2,000 people preserves its Italian heritage through food, music and traditions. What first drew Daniele Stocchi in as something curious, even slightly surreal, soon revealed a far more complex story — one shaped by identity, land, rights and a complicated past.

Through the eyes of his grandson, the life of renowned Italian journalist Mino Damato is rediscovered, revealing both the public figure and the private man behind decades of reporting.

It was supposed to be a five-minute detour. It ended with a lifetime ban from a country that technically doesn’t exist.
While filming in Moldova, a brief crossing into Transnistria turned into border guards, endless questions and the kind of story no documentary script could have planned.
