In 2022, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, filmmaker and mother Alisa Kovalenko makes the life-changing decision to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces, leaving behind her five-year-old son.

Through video diaries, letters and intimate moments, "My Dear Théo" documents her experience on the front line while preserving the bond between a mother and her child.

A deeply personal story that transforms war into a testament of love, memory and hope.

At just fifteen years old, Shewit leaves Eritrea in search of freedom. But escaping her country is only the beginning of a much longer journey, marked by uncertainty, resilience and the determination to build a new life.

Filmed over the course of ten years, "Freedom – Shewit's Destiny" follows Shewit's path as her personal story becomes a reflection on belonging, identity and the meaning of starting over.

It offers an intimate perspective on migration, revealing the challenges behind the search for freedom and the strength required to overcome them.

Two venues, countless perspectives, one journey beyond the boundaries of the visible.
Teatro Litta will host the Italian Feature-Length Contest, the Italian New Talent Short Docs Contest, the International Contest and Visioni Incontra, the industry section.

At the Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci, Visioni VR Contest will open new gateways of perception through virtual reality and interactive experiences.

From 16 to 20 September 2026, Visioni dal Mondo will inhabit two of Milan’s most iconic places, where history, imagination and the future come together.

From 16 to 20 September, Milan welcomes the 12th edition of the Visioni dal Mondo International Documentary Festival, hosted at Teatro Litta and the Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci.
39 premieres of documentaries films with stories, images and perspectives capable of crossing distances, cultures and horizons.

Francesco Bizzarri and Cinzia Masòtina awarded Single Land the Visioni Incontra Award at Bio to B – Industry Days 2026, the industry section of Biografilm.

Directed by Paolo Geremei and Giacomo Del Buono, and produced by Redigital, producer Ermanno Guida, the project tells a story of love, encounters and new possibilities at any age.

Single Land has won the invitation to pitch at “Visioni Incontra” the industry section of the 12th International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo, taking place in Milan from September 16 to 20.
