福岡会場開催中止のお知らせ

Notice of Cancellation of the Fukuoka Venue

本⽇ 10 ⽉ 6 ⽇付で発表されました、福岡市総合図書館「映像ホール・シネラ」の休館を受け、12 ⽉ 9 ⽇〜13 ⽇に同会場で予定していました「イメージフォーラム・フェスティバル 2026」福岡会場の中⽌を決定いたしました。

We regret to announce that the Image Forum Festival 2026, which was scheduled to take place at the Fukuoka City Public Libraryʼs Movie Hall Cine-La from December 9 to 13, will unfortunately not be held as planned.
This decision follows todayʼs announcement, October 6, regarding the long-term closure of Movie Hall Cine-La.

According to the announcement dated Oct. 6 (translated from Japanese):

“As a result of a preliminary inspection conducted in preparation for
renovation work scheduled for fiscal year 2027, it was discovered that some building materials containing asbestos had been used in part of the ceiling space.
There are no issues with the air quality inside the facility. However, in order to ensure a safe environment for visitors, Movie Hall Cine-La
will be closed from October 7, 2026, until further notice, as an interim measure while safety measures, including the removal of the
asbestos-containing materials, are carried out.

The reopening date and other details will be announced as soon as they are determined. The library apologizes for any inconvenience and concern this may cause and asks for visitorsʼ understanding.

Please note that air quality testing conducted inside the Movie Hall confirmed that no asbestos fibers were detected.

Air quality testing has also been conducted in areas of the Fukuoka City Public Library other than Movie Hall Cine-La, and these areas remain open as usual “

イメージフォーラム・フェスティバル2026 N5プログラム〈追悼・金井勝〉9/22(火・祝)18:30に上映した「スーパードキュメンタリー前衛仙術」の上映素材に不備があったことが判明しました。大変申し訳ございませんでした。映画終盤のエンドロール部分（3分程度）が欠けており、現在修正作業を行なっております。

本作は9/25(金)13:30にもう一度上映がございます。9/22にお越しいただいたお客様はどなた様も無料でご鑑賞いただけます。

🎥映画祭会期中、イメージフォーラム内にて展示

映画は時間の芸術だと言われるが、時間に関する様々な制度に縛られるものでもあった。映画前史を題材とした映画『フィルム・ビフォー・フィルム』から40年。本作に登場する「時間を映す幻燈」をヒントに制作。上映時間から解放された配信の映画と、時間に拘束されたかつての“映画”との関係を考察する試み。

Cinema is often said to be an art of time, yet it has also been bound by various systems governing time. Forty years after Film Before Film by Werner NEKES, a film about the prehistory of cinema, this work takes inspiration from the “magic lantern that projects time” featured in that film. It explores the relationship between streaming films, liberated from fixed screening durations, and the “cinema” of the past, which was bound by time.

インディペンデント・フィルムラボ「CRATER-Lab」の創設者の一人でもあるルイス・マシアスは、「映像作曲家」と名乗り、映画を光と物質の現象と捉え創作を行っている。2台の16ミリ映写機を使い、映像も音も物語もない映写の極限に挑む『虚ろな目と怒りと欲望に燃える瞳孔』、森のイメージが観客を包み込む『内側・外側・周囲』を上演。

Luis MACÍAS, one of the founders of the independent film lab CRATER-Lab, calls himself a “visual composer,” creating works that explore cinema as a phenomenon of light and matter. This program features The Eyes Empty And the Pupils Burning of Rage And Desire, which uses two 16mm projectors to push projection to its limits, with no images, sounds, or narrative, and Inside-Outside-Around, in which images of a forest envelop the audience.

This “Institute” can be characterized as a venue where individual students pursue and realize their own expression through critical guidance, and since its founding has produced widely diverse films overflowing with creativity. This special program is a selection of twenty-seven of its students’ graduation works.
