Les habitués des ruelles labyrinthiques de la médina de Marrakech sont déjà certainement familiers
du Café des Épices, lieu de rencontre renommé pour profiter d’une pause entre les souks. Nombreux ont dû faire connaissance avec Le Jardin, le second établissement créé par Kamal Laftimi qui en collaboration avec l’architecte d’intérieur Anne Favier, a fait naître une véritable oasis de fraîcheu

r au centre d’une bâtisse du XVIème siècle superbement rénovée. La modeste porte du lieu franchie, un jardin luxuriant équipé de petits salons extérieurs ou intérieurs et d’une multitude de lumières d’ambiance s’offre aux yeux ; il est surplombé de terrasses où l’on peut le soir venu assister en plein air à des projections de films classiques. Son design marocain, au chic auropéen, en appelle à l’esprit des années dorées de Marrakech de 1960 à 70, que le Pop Up Shop de Norya Ayron célébre au rez-de-chaussée de l’établissement. Avec son menu qui propose un large choix de plats marocains ou européens,
Le Jardin est l’endroit idéal pour déjeuner, dîner, ou simplement se rafraîchir d’un bon cocktail.

Habitual visitors to the ancient labyrinthine streets of the Marrakech Medina will be familiar with the Café des Épices, a reknown meeting point and perfect location for a respite from shopping excursions in the souks. Many will also be aware of Kamal Laftimi’s other much heralded establishment, Le Jardin, in which he and interior architect Anne Favier have created a true magical oassis located within a beautifully renovated 16th Century building. Entering through an unassuming door, one comes into a lush garden dotted with tables and lights surrounded by the majestic building and the terraces above where one can lounge in the evening and watch the occassional open air projected classic films. The design is very much in the spirit of the 1960s and 70s heyday of Marrakech, a combination of Moroccan and European chic, which is equally accentuated by Norya Ayron’s
acclaimed Pop Up Shop located on the premises. With a menu that offers a choice of traditional Morrocan and European cuisine, it is a great place for both lunch and dinner or simply for a refreshing drink or good cocktail.
