Let’s stop the blame here & there. Obviously, Jr Pope died long ago under the water. Drowning is a form of asphyxiation, which the breathing is stopped after the lungs take in water. As such, death occurs when the brain is deprived of oxygen for some minutes. The critical note to take is that people should stop breaking the news of someone’s death when you’re not a member of the family who is in position to do so after a confirmation from the doctor. And another very important aspect, desists from taking and displaying an image of a sick or dead person without a consent. It’s a big offense. In most hospitals, esp in western world, camera or videoing is not allowed. It’s undignifying, totally disrespect and an invading of privacy.
LISTEN TO THE NARRATIVE OF JUNIOR POPE’s DEATH.
In word to word of an eye witness, Junior Pope was still underneath the river for over 2 hours. But people who were not there have been carrying fake news around that JP was found with life and that he died out of carelessness of people around. What a world. JP was recovered after over two hours of drowning and was dead.
He and one other guy that were recovered before the last three were taken to Saint Joseph's hospital were they were confirmed dead before they were taken to the mortuary department within same hospital. Social media has been agog with fake news that they were just taken to the mortuary and the mortician told them he still had life... Na wa!.
The mortician never said so, he said he could not admit them, because they died by drowning and advised they should be taken back to the river for necessary rituals before burial. JP was not supposed to be seen that day because he already drowned to death. It was when they couldn't find him after over two hours of search that they contacted that native doctor who did some rituals. Wether it worked or not, Ndubuisi Biosah cannot tell, all I know is that JP and the other guy were found after his incantations, they were already dead.
It was that same man that was contacted after the mortician's advice and he said they should bring them back to the river immediately. JP's wife and parents were at the hospital at this moment. They were consulted and they gave the go ahead. They took them back to the river bank and the native doctor did one or two and told them that his spirit was still alive. Note, his spirit. He never said that JP was still alive. That was when people started shouting that he is alive that got viral. But it's quite understandable, people wanted JP to live, but the JP I saw was gone.
So all the talks of him waking up, standing up or sitting down were not true. He was carried and rushed back to the hospital. He never lifted an eyelid or breathed. The picture of when he was sitting was gotten when he was placed and held to a chair with the hope a miracle will happen since the native doctor said his spirit was alive, while the hospital prepared their apparatus. We talking about a very good hospital at Saint Bridges road. He was immediately placed on oxygen, and therefater checks were ran on him and once again, he was confirmed long gone. That was where news flew out again that they finally lost him as if he had life at any point.
Bloggers who were not even on ground and busybodies overtook the internet accusing people ignorantly. But I don't blame them, I blame the native doctor who left his job and started talking about spirits for a man whom I was with his co**se for over three hours and I knew he was dead. I knew the internet space is dangerous but JP's ordeal gave me a first hand experience of how toxic it is. Even people who were in Manfe were arguing with people on ground that he stood up!. Na wa for WAEC. Junior Pope was dead when he was found that afternoon, confirmed dead at the hospital and had remained so all the while they were going through all this debacle.
But the good thing is that haven been confirmed dead by the last hospital as could be seen in the viral pictures where he had cotton wools in his nose, he was taken back to the Saint Joseph's mortuary where an agreement was reached with the mortician that he be kept for some days, while the necessary rituals are done in the river. Wether or not he will be finally buried by the river side or taken back to his place after the rituals, his family and the river priests will have to decide that. I urge us to be careful with the internet, I learnt alot this time, but it is unfortunate that I had to do so with the demise of Junior Pope Odowodo😭😭😭,he was a great guy.
