BE READY TO SPEAK

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:4

The gift of speaking in tongues is a key result of the Holy Spirit's working in the prayer life of a believer. The gift of speaking in tongues is not a way of receiving the Holy Spirit. It's a result coming from He that is already in you. And guess what, it's for everyone who believes in Jesus! (Acts 16:17).

When you believe in Jesus as Lord and saviour, you are born again. The Holy Spirit comes into your life as you are birthed into Christ. He is received by faith. Simply by believing. "So why don't I speak in tongues?" Someone might ask.

It's because you are not yet ready to speak. Ha ha.. But it's true. See our key verse. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with tongues. Notice that it was them who spoke, as the Holy Spirit gave them ability. You my say, "yes! That's my problem, I don't have ability"

But nope, that's not true. When the Holy Spirit came to you, He came with ability. It's not felt. Only believe it. You have ability. You have the ability to speak in new tongues. Now go ahead and thank Him for His presence and ability in you. And go ahead and speak in new tongues.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I believe in you. I receive the Holy Spirit into me and I know that you are in me now, precious Holy Spirit. I thank you for your beautiful presence and ability in me. Thank you dear Lord for being in me. -now continue to pray-

JESUS MY ASSURANCE

“A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. John 14:19 NKJV

The life and resurrection of Jesus after His death on the cross gives us a certain hope that cannot be shaken. His words to His disciples was, "because I live, you will live also". This is simply Jesus saying, you can only be afraid or truly exposed to danger if I'm ever defeated.

Do you know what that means? We can have our boast and confidence in Jesus. Anything that didn't defeat Him cannot defeat you. Anything that didn't stop Him cannot stop you.

And you have to take it personal. Because Jesus lives, you live also! Because Jesus is risen, you are risen also! Because Jesus is victorious, you are victorious also! Because He defeated sin, you have defeated sin also! Because He defeated death, you have defeated death also!

Therefore eliminate from your mind the fear of death. Eliminate from your mind the possibility of death. Why? Because Jesus is alive! Let your heart rest in His word. Know His word. Jesus is alive, and that's our assurance in life!

Affirmation: My life is united with Christ. I cannot cease to live because Jesus cannot cease to live. Christ is life Himself, and my life is Him in me. Hallelujah!! I eliminate from my mind the fear of death. I eliminate from my mind the possibility of death! Why? Because Jesus lives! I live also!!
