ht programma dat als doel heeft te laten zien op welke verschillende manieren het ecosysteem van Den Haag werkt aan vrede en recht, zowel op nationaal als internationaal niveau, en om zo het idee van een 'Internationale Stad van Vrede en Recht' tastbaarder te maken voor Haagse burgers. Het Just Peace programma is een samenwerking tussen de gemeente Den Haag en The Hague Humanity Hub en is tot stand gekomen in samenwerking met tal van bijdragende organisaties die in Den Haag werken aan een vreedzamere en rechtvaardigere wereld. Het Just Peace online platform www.justpeacethehague.com is dé plek waar inwoners van Den Haag het hele jaar door deel kunnen uitmaken van - en betrokken kunnen blijven bij - het ecosysteem van vrede en recht. Op de website kun je alle actuele activiteiten en evenementen bekijken in de agenda; meer te weten te komen over alle bij Just Peace betrokken organisaties en inspirerende verhalen lezen, zien en luisteren op de 'verhalen' pagina.

The Hague breathes peace and justice. Our ambition is to build on this foundation, with the aim of giving peace and justice an important place in the hearts and actions of our residents, entrepreneurs, and organisations. Just Peace is a public facing programme aiming to showcase the variety of ways that the ecosystem of The Hague is working on peace and justice, both nationally and internationally and to make the idea of an ‘International City of Peace and Justice’ more tangible to its citizens. The Just Peace programme is a partnership between the Municipality of The Hague and The Hague Humanity Hub, co-created together with numerous contributing organisations working towards a more peaceful and just world in The Hague. The programme consists of two main projects: Just Peace Month and Just Peace online platform. The Just Peace online platform is the online space that allows citizens of The Hague to become part of – and stay engaged in – the peace and justice ecosystem throughout the whole year. We invite everybody to visit and become a part of Just Peace, be it by joining our events, organising their own event(s) or contributing with inspiring stories to be featured on the online platform. Just Peace is for everyone!

We’re hiring a Communications Officer to help share the stories, people and ideas shaping peace and justice in The Hague.

In this role, you will support how The Hague Humanity Hub communicates its work and the activities of its community which includes:
🖌️ writing articles, interviews, blog posts, event reports, profiles, and long-form storytelling pieces that highlight the peace and justice ecosystem
🗞️ creating content for social media, newsletters and the website
💻 supporting communications around events and projects
🤼 working with colleagues to ensure clear and consistent messaging across channels

It’s a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys writing, content planning and working across different formats, and who is comfortable translating complex topics into accessible communication.

Naomi ontwikkelde een app om vrouwen te helpen 📱

Kom naar The Handshake met Naomi Hija, oprichter en CEO van de app EviSafe! 🎙️

✊ Met EviSafe gaat Naomi de strijd aan met huiselijk geweld, een app die signaleert wat er achter de voordeur gebeurt. Hoe is zij van hulpverlener in de jeugdzorg naar ondernemer in tech gekomen? Op dinsdag 13 januari zal Naomi haar persoonlijke en professionele reis delen.

Of je nu student bent, een jong professional of een carrièreswitch overweegt, dit is jouw kans om Naomi's verhaal te horen over hoe ze haar ondernemersvaardigheden inzet om vrouwen en slachtoffers van huiselijk geweld te ondersteunen met behulp van nieuwe technologie.

Orange the World 2025: er zijn nog steeds meisjes die niet thuiskomen

📳 Stop geweld tegen meisjes en vrouwen, de kernboodschap van de jaarlijkse campagne . Van 25 november tot 10 december kleurt de wereld oranje.

Wij vroegen ons af waarom dit geweld aanhoudt en hoe we verder kunnen gaan dan symbolische zichtbaarheid van oranje verlichting. 🧡

👉 Drie perspectieven bieden inzicht:
- Tessel ten Zweege, schrijver en activist;
- Dolle Mina’s Den Haag, grassroots activisten Iris Glasz en Murièlle Payet;

We’ve all heard of climate justice, a powerful phrase - but also a complicated one.

Behind it are many perspectives: ethical questions without easy answers, scientific warnings too clear to ignore, security challenges reshaping global peace, activists protecting their communities, young leaders fighting for a liveable future, and governments trying to balance urgency with justice.

🏛️ On the 15th of December at the Peace Palace in The Hague (and on livestreaming), we’re bringing these perspectives together as lived experiences and engaging conversations.

De wereld verandert snel en dat heeft gevolgen voor hoe we samenleven. Democratische waarden staan onder druk, polarisatie groeit, en de verkiezingen komen eraan. Juist nu is verbinding belangrijker dan ooit en is het tijd om samen in gesprek te gaan.

Tijdens deze dialoog in Amare, georganiseerd door The Hague Humanity Hub en Oxfam Novib, gaan bewoners, activisten, studenten en beleidsmakers met elkaar in gesprek over protest, verbinding, lokale organisatie en de rol van burgers in het versterken van democratie en verbondenheid.
