MESSAGE to all.
Going out and partying with friends, showing that you aren't scared of the virus is the stupidest thing a person can do at this time. Italy did the same mistake, understimated the coronavirus outbreak, and now has more than 27k positive cases and more than 2100 deaths. Taiwan, very close to China, on the other hand got learnings from the previous SARS outbreak and were prepared for it. They knew what was coming because of which there are only 67 cases positive as of now.
Nepal, currently is on denial stage. "Superstition", "Ignorance" and "Over-confidence" is rooted deeply here. I have never been more sad. We know we don't have enough sanitizers and masks, we don't have enough testing kits, we don't have enough tools and resources if Corona Virus enters Nepal (which I suppose has happened already). It's been 2 months since the virus spread out of China and we have tested merely about 500 people which shows how much negligence our government is showing. The number of cases will rise exponentially and within a matter of time, it will be too late for us to react. Doctors in Italy now have to choose who will get oxygen and who won't. They wouldn't treat the too old people and won't treat you if you have major pre-existing health conditions because of the scarcity of the resources. Nepal, if not taken action in time, will be worse than that.
I still see people traveling in public buses without any precautions. Not to mention that public buses are carrying more passengers than their capacity. People are still roaming out with friends, visiting places. Cafes, restaurants, pubs, theaters are still open. Offices haven't given work from home option to their employees. Schools, colleges are still open. Government is least interested on these matter but what about the individual? We should be aware of what is coming to us and be prepared now itself. Starting right now also might be late already, but better late than never. This is a social cause now and every individual should contribute equally for flattening out the curve.
We might be young and asymptomatic meaning that we might carry virus within us and don't even know. But we can transmit it to others, who are not in the state to fight the virus. If we(young persons) are to contribute to this cause, keep our family safe, let's stay at home so that we will not carry the virus and transmit it to the less fortunate people(older). Let's follow the WHO guidelines and force our parents to follow the same. Let's unite together to flatten out the curve.
Meanwhile, let's force our government to concentrate on this matter seriously and impose some strict rules against public gathering.
Stay alert not panic..
