THE HELLSTROM CHRONICLE (1971): Sunday 14 June 4pm* Perhaps one of the strangest films to ever win the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, portraying in stunning detail, a war we did not know we were fighting: the struggle between humankind and the insects that are determined to take over the planet. Director Walon Green and his team of cinematographers macro-photographed the vicious insect world with microscopic and telescopic lenses, and sometimes in stop-motion ... Stringing this parade of violence, seduction, and survival together is Dr. Nils Hellstrom, a fictitious entomologist played by Lawrence Pressman.

PROBLEM CHILD (1990): Saturday 13 June 4pm - In the pantheon of films about bad children, 1990’s PROBLEM CHILD is up there with THE BAD SEED for terrifying tikes. When Junior heads home with his new family, he sets out on a warpath against them, the neighborhood children, clowns, cats and befriends a serial killer! With a streak of dark humor and great comic performances from John Ritter, Amy Yasbeck, Michael Richards, Gilbert Gottfried and Jack Warden - PROBLEM CHILD may be almost 40 years old, but Junior is forever young.

Once again merging documentary and fiction, Rude Boy follows roughneck Ray Gange as he drops his Soho sex-shop job to roadie for The Clash—the most fiery, revolutionary rock ’n’ roll band of the era, seen in this film at the dizzying peak of their powers.

🎵 HIGH FIDELITY (2000): Saturday 6 June 6:30pm - Record store manager and list-compiler-extrordinaire Rob Gordon’s (John Cusack) girlfriend has left him, sending him on a mission to find out what went wrong, and what were his all time, top five, most painful breakups ever.

“Few films capture the cultural zeitgeist of Generation X quite like High Fidelity (2000). Adapted from Nick Hornby’s novel, it is a time capsule of a world when physical media reigned supreme, music snobs debated endlessly in record stores, and flannel-clad cynicism was the fashion of the day.” - In Session Film

ALL THAT JAZZ (1979): Friday 5 June 8pm - This fascinating, imaginative and intimate biographical musical drama is a startlingly candid testament from the late Bob Fosse, gifted dancer, brilliant choreographer and Oscar-winning director of Cabaret. Sensational dancing and eye-popping production numbers punctuate the confessional reminiscences of arrogant, satirical theatrical eminence Joe Gideon as he flirts with Death. Starring Roy Scheider.

DJANGO UNCHAINED (2012): Saturday 6 June 3pm - The “D” is silent, though the name of “Django Unchained‘s” eponymous gunslinger sounds like a retaliatory whip across the face of white slaveholders, offering an immensely satisfying taste of antebellum empowerment packaged as spaghetti-Western homage. Directed by Quentin Tarantino.

“Django Unchained doesn’t merely hit its marks; it blows them to bloody chunks. It’s manna for mayhem mavens.” - New York Magazine
