Aluminum caps and can tabs recycling!

The Village Theatre in conjunction with the GB Lion's have set up a special recycling location for all your clean/rinsed Aluminum bottle lids, tear off Aluminum lids and Aluminum can tabs to fundraise for the Kidney Kids charity.

Bring your lids when you come to the movies and pop them into our special can in the lobby. And give your Phoenix and Aroha drink lids to our staff after your movie and we will rinse them and pop them in the can. Thanks.

Please rinse them so we don't end up with sweet sticky lids that attract ants etc. Thanks.

Oh where, oh where, are our lovely warm lap blankets?
Oh where, oh where, can they be?
With their fluffyness cut short
And their tassels cut long
Oh where, oh where can they be??!!

The cold chilly nights are here and winter is fast approaching. We have discovered that our lovely basket of lap blankets that people can use during films at the Village Theatre has been sadly diminished by the blankets wandering off. What used to be a fully over flowing basket of blankets has dropped down to just a few.

Our blankets are unique in that they all have a label on them showing they are owned by the Takaka Village Theatre donated by the wonderful Mariposa Clothing Soul Footwear business.

We would like to offer a finders reward of a bag of our giant jaffa treats for the return of any of our wayward blankets if they are still in a tidy condition.

And if anyone has a spare lap blanket they would like to donate to our basket to help keep more knees warm during a wintery film, we would appreciate it greatly and like to offer a bag of our giant jaffa treats to thank you too.

Oh where, oh where can they be??!!

Did you miss out on seeing our screening of The Sheep Detectives (PG) last week which sold out? Not to worry, we will be showing an Extra Screening in our next program!

The film follows George Hardy (Hugh Jackman), a shepherd who loves his sheep and raises them only for their wool. Every night he reads aloud a murder mystery, pretending his sheep can understand, never suspecting that not only can they understand but they argue for hours afterwards about whodunnit. When George is found dead under mysterious circumstances, the sheep realise at once that it was a murder and think they know everything about how to go about solving it.

So watch out for the new program after the French Film Festival!
