Te Awamutu's cinema, the Regent Theatre, is renowned throughout the country for being one of a very small number of high-quality provincial cinemas. In addition to an all-round quality movie experience there is also an impressive collection of movie memorabilia lining walls and foyer, taking one back to the early days of New Zealand cinema. The Regent Theatre has been in business since 1932 with D

addy Long Legs being the first film played. Since 1st April 2022 The Regent Theatre's operations have continued with The Theatre Beautiful, a charitable trust to ensure The Regent is maintained and remains a vibrant creative hub, and an icon for Te Awamutu. Having celebrated its 90th birthday in 2022 look forward in seeing you enjoy the cinema for many more years to come.

🎬 An update from the Projector Room — Cinema 1!

With the Legg Brothers’ work now officially completed ,effectively, efficiently, and, most importantly, with zero dramas or delays 👏, the pressure is now firmly on this man! 😂

All that remains is for Kev to keep smiling, pretend there’s absolutely NO pressure whatsoever, and tidy everything up before the new projector arrives tomorrow. 😬

Easy, right Kev? 😏

What would we do without you, mate?

The rest of the week will be left to Des and Rohan to make sure everything is running smoothly and, hopefully, that nobody presses the wrong button! 😂

Then, on Saturday, the new projector makes its big-screen debut with Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie! At 11.30 AM🐾🎬

What a team we have at The Regent !!!
